Rapture Unison

Hi everybody, I'd like to know if and how Rapture perform with fat Unison (mostly saw tooth) patches.

How far can it go in this regard?

I haven't really played with that feature yet, but scroll down 3/4 of the page (or search for unison) for some info: http://acapella.harmony-central.com/forums/showthread.php?threadid=1188738

I'll add there's several ways to do this. With the Multi setting, you can have nine voices detuned from zero to +/- full semitone. You can also detune in the Multisample editor, with a VelTrack setting, or Pitch LFO, SteGgen, or envelope. Then you can copy that over to six elements total, and adjust even further. Hmm ... where are we at? 54 oscillators? If that's not enough, you can generate all you want in an .sfz text file.

Ok, now oscillator quantity for the next question:

are the oscillator top notch and not aliased (that is, is unison pristine or muddy)?

Thanks, I know the Expression Engine, I have Dimension Pro, it sounds great.

For what I've read so far, having already Dim Pro, Tone2 Firebird, DiscoDSP Discovery and a lot of freebies (Synth1 on top)
I wonder if Rapture is really needed for me... :O

There's some overlap, and also some features unique to both synths. I personally view that as an advantage, but it all depends on what you're after. Take a look around the forum archives here. There should be enough info scattered about that'll help in making an informed decision.
