Rapture crashing a lot

Guessing this is 100% my machine configuration, but I'm getting fairly consistent crashes that seem to be rapture-related. Once this crash happens in SONAR 8 I have to restart my machine to run SONAR again.

I'm running Rapture 64-bit (DirectX) with the 1.2.1 hotfix on Vista 64 with SONAR 8 Producer 64-bit

CF

Sonar 8.5 Producer, E-MU 0404 USB

Battery 3, Amplitube2, Ampex SVX

What's really weird is that blacked out area that prevents you from knowing where the dump went.

    Hello ControlFreak,

I'd suggest sending that .dmp file to Support, there's some info on it that can certainly help tracking down the crash.

I have the same problem: Vista 64, Sonar 8 64bit, Rapture LE.
    Have you fixed?
I think there's some kind of incompatibility between Rapture and the Step Sequencer.

send the dump files to support after setting up a ticket.. is the short answer.. and they can trace where it's not coping..

    http://www.cakewalk.com/Support/ProblemReporter/

the more relevant dump files relating they get that point to that same issue the better

Just want to say that I opened a ticket just now, but I get "We are very sorry that you were not able to send files right now. Please try again later.."every time I try to send the dump file. I'll try from a different computer in a little while .. this one is .. tempermental with the Internet. Can't wait for Windows 7

Ok .. zipped the file and it sent .. wasn't too big before I zipped it .. but it worked so I guess it's all good. Now I'm hoping that I get a response.

Also, to Toycamaniac .. I get this with or without the Step Sequencer.

I haven't gotten a single crash (EDIT: of the type I reported in this thread) since upgrading to 8.5.1.

I'm hesitant to say that it's fixed, but I feel like it could be.

The most annoying thing about the Rapture LE crash is the fact that Sonar asks if you want the program to attempt to save a copy of your work.  If you make the mistake of picking yes, Sonar freezes and does not save the file, the file gets truncated and the CWP is ruined and can't be opened anymore.

This really pissed me off two times.  I learned my lesson.  If the program crashes becauses of Rapture, I won't attempt to save any unsaved work.

I quit using both x64 of Rapture and Dimension Pro.  About 8 months ago, I went through the whole tech support process regarding Rapture (during the course of a 4 week period) with minidumps and big attached files, etc . . . but to no avail.  It is a broken piece of software, and a major fix should have been put out a while ago.

3.5 Ghz AMD 6-Core/16 gigs RAM, Roland Quad-Capture, Win 10, Cakewalk by Bandlab, Komplete 10, z3ta+, Z3TA+ 2, Rapture, Maschine 2.7 (MKI & Jam), Melodyne 4 Studio, Ozone 4, Jam Origin MIDI Guitar 2, Schecter Damien Elite, Fender Sonoran w/TronicalTune Plus installed, etc

Make sure you report this to Cakewalk directly using the link below:

    http://www.cakewalk.com/S...mReporter/Default.aspx

If enough people report this problem there is a greater chance of possibly getting it fixed.

    Good luck.
