Rapture install issues - pls help

Just bought Rapture and trying to install v 1.2.1 on a new(ish) Macbook Pro running OS X 10.8.2. I get an error that the serial number is incorrect. Based on some old threads, I ran disk utility to clean up some permissions and ensured that English was set as my default language. No luck - I still get the same issue. Any help would be much appreciated as I'm looking forward to playing with Rapture.

When you run the installer, right click it and makes sure you run it "As Administrator"

I did not know that we can run Sonar on a MAC.
It sounds like you are updating an already installed Rapure...?
    I'm on Windows 7 on a PC.
I recently attempted to update to V 1.2.2 and got into the same situation where none of my Rapture serial numbers was recognised.
I believe this is a "known issue", so I contacted Cakewalk Support.
They sent me the following instructions (which were successful):

************* REMEMBER, THIS IS FOR ME ON WINDOWS 7 ON A PC SO MAY NOT SUIT YOU
************* BUT ALEAST IT SHOWS THAT YOU CAN EXPECT GOOD SUPPORT

You'll need to do a clean install of Rapture and reload the 1.2.2 version:
    1) Completely un-install Rapture from your computer. This is normally done from Start | Programs | Cakewalk. This will not remove any of your files or audio data.

    2) Now open the 'Run' command.

    a) In Windows XP this can be done by going to Start | Run.

    b) In Windows Vista/7 this can be done by holding down the 'windows' key and pressing 'r'.

    3) At the prompt type regedit and click OK.

***Backup your Registry before making edits - you do this by clicking the File menu, Export Registry File.

    4) After backing up your Registry, you will want to delete the following registry keys. Delete the last folder in the chain of these keys by right-clicking on them and selecting "delete". In most cases, the folder you will be deleting will be named "Rapture" or "rp". If you do not have some of the registry keys below, it is okay simply proceed to the next one on the list. Here are the keys to look for:

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Cakewalk Music Software\Rapture

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Cakewalk Music Software\rp

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Cakewalk Music Software\Rapture

    HKEY__LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Cakewalk Music Software\rp

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Wow6432Node\Cakewalk Music Software\Rapture

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Wow6432Node\Cakewalk Music Software\rp

    5) Manually delete your Rapture folder. The default location for this is: C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\Rapture

If you have a 32-bit installation of Rapture on a 64-bit operating system, the default location is: C:\Program Files (x86)\Cakewalk\Rapture

    5) Open the 'Run' command again and type: msconfig Click ‘OK’ and then click on the Startup tab at the upper right of the window that opens.

    6) Uncheck all items listed, click ‘Apply’, then restart your computer. You can always recheck those items again at a later time.

    7) Then reinstall Rapture from:

Afterwards, you will want to download then install the appropriate updates and free Expansion Packs for Rapture from our website. These can be downloaded from here: [link=http://www.cakewalk.com/Support/Instruments/Rapture.aspx]http://www.cakewalk.com/S...struments/Rapture.aspx[/link]

Thanks all but I'm still stuck. I'm running the program as admin and on a Mac OS X 10.8.2. I unfortunately do not have an old OS version to roll back to as suggested in the last post. I'm waiting for Cakwalk support to respond but sounds like I'm out of luck here.

That is probably the only workaround http://www.cakewalk.com/S...reader.aspx/2007013259
