RaptureLE 64 Problem
Ok...I'm certainly no MIDI expert... I've got a problem.....I've written a song that requires RaptureLE... When I play the part without the transport moving ...it's PERFECT.... When I try to record the part....or just PLAY the part with the transport moving half the sound is cut off.....and that won't work for the song. The patch I'm using is Lo-Fi Drama....and if played by itself...it's awesome.... Turn on the transport......boom...half the sound is "cut-off" Any ideas?

Larry, Maybe if we had a little better description of the problem, some thoughts might surface, but I am failing to understand what you mean by "half the sound is cut-off". Maybe it's just me...

Best way to "HEAR" this problem is Insert Rapture LE onto a track... Load the "Lo-FI Drama" patch in RaptureLE... Play your keyboard a listen to the patch.... THEN try to record the patch to the track... When you do that.....half the FULL sound is gone.... Best description I can give....the FULL SOUND isn't there anymore....=( I've tried everything I can think of, including freezing the track to see if that changes anything....exporting it, NOPE....the ONLY time it sounds as it should is IF THE TRANSPORT IS NOT MOVING.... It's the strangest thing I've ever encountered... Hopefully someone from Cake will chime in here...

Is it just doing it with that patch? If so, have you tried playing it with another patch as sort of control?

OK... I have the full version of Rapture, but I am going to load LE 64 to see if I can duplicate the problem.

Well, I don't know what we are doing differently, but I have no problems recording (or playing back) the full sound of the program. When you say you are losing half the sound, again, do you mean some elements of that program are not being heard? or you are losing one channel of the stereo spread?

Lo-Fi Drama uses 4 of the 6 Elements in Rapture: E1 = 024 - saw half E2 = 152 - pulse 1 E3 = 016 - saw mini E4 = 076 - e-bass 04 But if any of those elements were turned off in the mixer at the bottom of the Rapture window, you would not hear them whether the transport was running or not. I have had my share of problems with Rapture (particularly after upgrading to the full version and installing the DSF Filmscore expansion) but I can't make it do what you have encountered. I'll keep looking at possible causes.

Larry, When you loaded Rapture initially, did you make it a simple instrument track or did you load the split-channel (MIDI on one track, Instrument/Audio on another)?

Well, if you set it up as a simple instrument track, that rules out the possibility that the wrong output was chosen in that Options window (although I have tried re-creating the problem by doing it 4 different ways, and I can't make it misbehave). If you haven't already done this, try deleting the instance of Rapture LE you have open, then re-insert in the project and try again. If that fails, maybe it's time for you to call Cakewalk. Sorry!

Thanx for the effort OlSkool... I already tried that...no avail....can't seem to figure this one out.... As I said...strangest problem I've ever encountered.... AND it happens when Rapture is even the ONLY TRACK in the project too...and ONLY with the transport moving... either playing or recording.... Maybe something to do with the QuadCapture asio driver? But if that were the case then you'd think that it would be happening even without the transport moving...

Ok...I decided to try the SAME exact thing in Studio One 2 Pro.... EXACT SAME RESULT.... As long as the transport is not moving....all is well.. The minute you try to record.....sound goes missing... chiefly the MAIN note played... No transport...sound is fine...so... either this is a RAPTURE issue...or a Quad Capture issue, as I have eliminated the host as the cause.. AND since Olskool says he has no problem...I'm leaning heavily towards the Quad Capture as the cause... Unfortunately I don't have another interface to try to confirm my suspicions... I spoke in error earlier also, as this is happening with all patches, as I have verified this... I've changed sample rates and all midi settings ...nothing helps.... ANYONE WITH A THOUGHT ON THIS?

Have you tried increasing or decreasing latency? There would obviously be a gap when playing (or recording) with a higher latency setting, but it's worth a shot... You could also try excluding Rapture in the Plugin Manager, rescan your VSTs, then re-enable it and rescan again. Maybe something's hokey in the way Rapture exists in the Plugin Manager.
