Rapure delay a section

In the latest Rapture (I have the demo which is not the most recent version as I understand) is it possible to delay a 'section'. Forgive me if I'm not using the right terminology. You have six sections (effectively six synthesizers) to make up a sound. Can you delay these sections (by milliseconds) so that they don't start at exactly the same time?

Yes it is.  There are a couple of ways you can do this.    It sounds like you want each Element to have a different Amplitude Envelope for their attack.

    -  Select the AMP modulator for the Element you want to work with
    -  Turn it's status to On
    -  Now you can draw nodes inside the modulator just like a ADSR (only with unlimited nodes!)  =)
    -  Just keep your first node at value zero, and you can drag it to the right until you've reached your desired start time.  (you can view the time in milliseconds in the upper middle section of that modulator)

You can also copy and paste the modulators by right clicking their respective tabs.  So if you want a similar envelope shape across the different elements you can paste each one after creating the first shape, then make more adjustments.

Aha I can't believe I missed that you can alter the start position of the first node

But will the waveform actually start at phase 0 when you do this? Or is it more like setting a really steep attack?

The oscillator will start at phase 0 when you first press the key.  The delay in attack we are setting up is just automation of the amplitude, so by the time it sounds it will be already something else.

If you are trying to do some cool phase aligning between the elements you should look at the AP1 filter mode.  Essentially the AP1 filter is a sub 'sample' delay, if you have the filter cutoff all the way open the delay will be 1 full sample.

    From the Rapture help:

    "All Pass, One-Pole filter.
This filter is used to introduce sub-sample delay times.
This is useful when phase aligning samples between different elements.
This is a very subtle effect."

Great! That's exactly what I was looking for.
