Bob,
Sounds good as usual bro, The vox & guitars on your tracks are always stompin.   I am not gonna bs ya man, I think the drums sound programmed out because most rock drummers playing this beat would be playing twice as fast on the hats (kicking it up to 8th notes) and the pauses before and after the choruses sound a bit unnatural to my ear anyway....  I Like the tune but I would refference some similar songs and listen to the drum tracks, I think if you hop up the hats it will smooth out the choppy robot feel.   Rock on though!  Nice work!

ADK Built DAW, W7, Sonar Platinum, Studio One Pro,Yamaha HS8's & HS8S  Presonus Studio/Live 24.4.2, A few decent mic pre's,  lots of mics, 57's,58 betas, Sm7b, LD Condensors, Small condensors, Senn 421's,  DI's,  Sans Amp, A few guitar amps etc. Guitars : Gib. EDIT: Mix 4 Final??? - 8/11/11

Hi Guys,

Sorry I haven't been around the past few weeks, I got extremely busy at work and all caught up in "real" life, so I didn't get much of an opportunity to work on music or check in here in a while.

Anyway, I finally had some time and got a chance to install the third and final stage of my acoustical treatment, and then decided to take another crack at fine tuning this mix.  Thanks SO MUCH to EVERYBODY that took time to listen, comment, and provide input, advice and opinions, even though I wasn't around lately to reply.  Words truly can't express my great appreciation for your help and friendship!

So, on this fourth and hopefully final mix, I lowered the drum bus by 3dBs, raised the bass tracks 2dBs, raised the vocal bus 1.5dBs and then did some more EQ surgery on the bass and drum tracks.  I also changed the panning slightly inward on the clean guitars, and moved the almost buried chorus melody guitar line and BGVs off center a little bit.  Since it's been three weeks since I've been in the studio, and my ears are not familiarized with the new final acoustical treatment, please let me know if anything seems glaringly out of balance for volume or EQ levels.

Thanks so much again, to everybody for your help and input!
Best wishes!
Bob

Bob - this sounds huge!    Your guitar works is always great.  I love your tone.  It's a really cool song.  I really like how you process the vocals.  Very impressive that you created this song that fast.  Excellent job!
