Re-Mapping Addictive Drums

I just started making use of Addictive Drums and realized pretty quickly that they use their OWN mapping and don't go by the general midi standard.

Is there a fast, easy way to remap my midi files, OR the plugin itself so that they play properly until I decide to learn their proprietary mapping? This seems like a huge pain.

I can only discuss the original AD and assume this is the one in question. I would guess AD2 is similar.

AD can be set to GM. In the AD UI, click the Beats button in the upper right, then the "Map Window" in the bottom right of the Beats screen, then select GM from the Map Preset drop down in the upper left of the Map Window.

You can set the mapping to use GM as Scook suggests. You can easily create your own as well. Just click on the ? icon and select map. In AD 1, you click on the beats tab. Over on the left you can select which midi map you wish to use.

You can create your own as well. I modified the GM map to what I want and saved it as my own preset and then made it my default start up map. To modify the map, directly to the left of the keyboard are the kit piece names. To change what you see there just click on the slot names above like the Bass drum slot or the snare. The different toms or cymbals. All you have to do is drag the type of hit to the keyboard note of your choice. Say the cymbal hit to a g and the cymbal choke to g#. Once you start moving things you'll understand.
