Reading Automation Problem
Hello, I had this problem (which I posted here) previously on a larger project and though it was a data overload. Once I archive my MIDI tracks the problem was solved I thought. The problem is that I can record automation - in this case volume - but my tracks are not responding to it. All "Read" buttons are activated, the recorded automation shows up in the automation lane per track, the Envelope/Offset mode is off, and this is a very small (24 bars with just a few instruments) project. Has anyone seen this behavior before? Any ideas? All help appreciated, Reber Clark Windows 7 Pro 64 bit SONAR X2a 64 bit.
In theory there is no difference between theory and practice, but in practice there is. SONAR Platinum 64bit, Windows 10 Pro 64bit, Polywell Core i7 x98 3.33GHz, 24GB RAM

When you say the tracks are not responding is it the fader, the audible results, or both?

Hi Steve, thanks for responding. I mean the fader does not move and the audio is not affected - so, both. However - I found that if I close the project and re-open it then all is well. Any ideas?

Huh... yeah, that is odd. However, it's not the first time reopening a project resolved an issue! Sometimes it almost seems as though data is not being cached/read correctly, and reopening simple clears everything from memory and loads it back in "fresh". Just an uneducated guess though. Of course, the most important thing is that it's working again.

I agree. My system is in excellent shape but I'm not able to conclude whether it's a SONAR issue or a system issue. Thanks for the input!

FYI - I wonder if doing a MIDI reset might work? I will try it if it happens again.
