Real Time Audio to Midi VST Plugin

Anyone Know of a good plugin that will convert an audio input to midi data in real time?

For example I'd like to use my guitar to play some of my VSTi's on my DAW.

Yes I know there are pickups, outboard synth modules, etc......but really all those are is a microprocessor technology that converts the signal from the strings to midi data.

.....I think any of the high power computers of today should be able to handle it.

Any suggestions are appreciated
Thank you

Not a plugin, but you should check out the Sonuus G2M:

Not a Vst, but I saw this thing in action today and it was pretty impressive. Hammer-ons, pull-offs, muted strings, almost everything you can do on the guitar and zero latency. It was marketed as a toy but the midi implementation is deep. Yamaha EZ-EG.

If you want true hexophonic midi capabilities, you'll need to get something like the roland guitar synthesizer.

I did buy the Sonuus g2m recently.  It's fun, and for what I want will work fine, but you might as well just use a keyboard.

    Good luck.

    As an update......

I recieved many suggestions from another forum and tested the trials of the software.

I found that latency was just to high for all of them.  I think their main intend is slow single line type riffs or mp3 conversion.

I have since picked up a Roland GR-1 w/ pickup for my guitar.  This unit can be found cheap ($200 CND) installs with double sided tape if you don't want to drill holes, and works AWESOME!

My playing style has expanded soooo much

    Take Care!

    Hi, dmmi,

If you are still interested in a realtime guitar to midi converter - there is one pretty good on bitscrew.com called Pitcha****. It is monophonic, like Sonuus G2M, but much faster. Playing chords is still not possible without guitar modifications.

V Vocal has this feature for monophonic audio.

Edit : Just read the title, V Vocal audio to midi conversion is not real time.

considering that this thread is 3 years old and that dmmi has been banned, I doubt it matters much to him.
