Realign takes chronoligically

Many times I set a (drum)loop and then jam along (guitar) on a new track. In preferences i have set for continous takes to be placed in new separate take lanes so this jam-along clip/recording gets chopped up in many takes. OK. super for comping.......but sometimes I wish it were one single clip. It's tedious to realign all the clips/takes to one single clip manually.
I'd like to have a menu-item (just under 'flatten comp') to restore the (last?) chopped up take to a single clip automatically.
