Realitone Fingerpick v2.0
https://realitone.com/products/fingerpick-2-0 We’re really excited about this one. We’ve almost doubled the number of patterns, including some 3/4 and 6/8 patterns, we've made pattern selection much easier, added a Latch feature, as well as a mixer page, where you can make volume, pan and EQ adjustments to each string, and … we’ve added a nylon string guitar!

Not being a keyboard player, I'm curious as to how this is different (better or worse) than using wav loops like we did with Drag-n-Drop Drummer years ago? Bill

As far as I can tell, Fingerpick doesn't use wav loops. It's got samples of a real acoustic, with some MIDI loops for the different finger picking styles. You play a chord, and it picks to a preset "style". The key thing is, that the MIDI loop changes to reflect the chord shape to make it more realistic - so it's not just a transposed loop. TBH, it's not my favourite plugin. I find UJAM Virtual Guitarist & NI Strummed Acoustic far better for the guitar sound, but they're mainly suited to strumming chords. UJAM VG Silk does do finger picking, but it's on a nylon guitar. VG Amber (the acoustic one) only does strummed chords. I got fingerpick because it does finger picking on a steel strung acoustic. Most of the time I only use these sorts of plugins for getting ideas down. I'll normally re-record with a real guitar when I get the chance, but if the VSTi ends up sounding better I may keep it.

Ii know it doesn't use wav loops. I'm asking how it's different and whether it's better or worse than just dragging loops to the timeline from a folder full of loops.

I suppose a loop library would work, tho I wonder how well they'd transpose. Never tried it. With midi, it's easy to change chords or cut the fingerpicking speed by half (or double it). With Realitone you can drag the midi pattern to a track, edit it if you want and use another virtual instrument.

With audio loops, even if you change the pitch you can't change a major to minor (unless you use Melodyne editor or similar) With MIDI its easier and with guitar VSTi with chord recognition its very easy.

ZincTrumpet Glyn, I don't have it (yet) but have have a look at the YouTube video at 4:50 ish (the link below should take you there)... https://youtu.be/pnoTYqgbjUg?t=290
Thanks ZincT - I was stumped on the Nylon guitar too. Has anyone noticed that Fingerpick 1 now only plays in the left speaker, and half the samples are missing? I made a backup of my original, so I can fire it up from the file browser if need be, but it's a bit odd that it breaks the old version.

Thanks, I am sure that's a different video to the one I watched, but that's just about the last place i would have thought to look! Mine is working correctly through both channels. I rather like the nylon with the 12 string scripting switched on.

Tom, seems like you should have received an upgrade offer if you have version 1. I was able to buy their upgrade bundle (which includes the nylon gtr) for $45. I'd contact them and ask about it.
