Really lame question but how do I stop the track view from scrolling with the Now Time?

I just want to be able to focus on a section during playback without having the whole TV jump back to the start. I'm sure this is ridiculously simple. Sorry.

And I guess a related question is if I DO want the screen to scroll with the Now Time marker how do I get it to scroll smoothly instead of jumping from one section to the next? It's hard on my old eyes and brain. I had all these tricks worked out in Nuendo and now it's kind of messing me up.

Scroll Lock on the keyboard for scroll stopping and starting. Pause for the now time jumping. This is a mode for lowering the graphics demand on the CPU. It was added to Sonar before Vista and Aero. Its unneeded now more or less.

@John... Cool. The scroll lock thing worked (never would have thought of that). Sadly the Pause thing just made the time line act erratic. I used to set things so the timeline would start wherever it was (even offscreen) then scroll onto the screen, then when it hit the center of the screen it would scroll the track view smoothly along with it and stay in the center. Doesn't matter though. I'm just happy to be able to watch a segment until the Now Time line crosses over it (helps me with cuts/fades and placing tracks at the right spot). I'm sure the settings I'm looking for are in the manual if they exist at all. If I have to adjust to this I will. I'd rather not though.

For keeping the Now Time centered press G. To stop at the Now Time use ctrl + Spacebar. This is a pause. Not the same as the Pause key on the keyboard.

if you select a clip it will stop the scrroll from going to now time and you can scroll o where you want.

this was an added feaure a few versions of sonar back.
