Realtek HD and Sonar conflict !

Hi guys!
I got Sonar 7( Demo) installed on my system Music XPC (PC) and i have Realtek HD(high defenition)
The problem is:
When i play back an audio or Midi tracki hear some crackles in this track and no matter how i tune the audio settings in Sonar(buffer size or wherever..) i still hear those crackles!
Question is:
If i will use special recording sound card instead of Realtek will i have the same problem?
Does any one know this?

You should not use the Realtek. Those soundcards are fine for audio music playback, but are not good for audio recording. You will need to do some research on a dedicated audio soundcard. Have a look at M-Audio products and the Tascam US-122 for some starters.

So you mean the Realtek is Ok for playback an audio in Sonar ?And it is not problem with Realtek at all? so if it is not- what is a problem then??

I have already ordered RME card, it has not came yet...

With the Realtek onboard sound you proabbly need to run the MME drivers at about 30 to 40 msec latency. Then it will be fine for playback. That's what works for me after trying all sorts of settings that's the best I can do.

    Welcome to the forum!
Those integrated soundchips are not meant for any serious audio tasks. It's not absolutely impossible to manage with them, but you'll never know how it goes.
A professional level app like SONAR is not designed to work with 50 cent chips.

When you get your RME it's recommendable that you disable the Realtek.

SONAR PE 8.5.3, Asus P5B, 2,4 Ghz Dual Core, 4 Gb RAM, GF 7300, EMU 1820, Bluetube Pre  -  Kontakt4, Ozone, Addictive Drums, PSP Mixpack2, Melda Creative Pack, Melodyne Plugin etc.

Do a forum search for "Realtek" or "Realtek HD"... also "onboard audio", etc. There's been a lot of threads in the past year or so regarding the HD chips and issues. In general, you should be able to get by for the time being with an onboard chip, but you will probably have to futz with ASIO4ALL to get the most out of it. In all cases, you need proper drivers for the onboard chip, which I seem to remember being an issue with the 24-bit HD chips, not just Realtek.

get a decent sound card that has "asio" and decent convertors.. depends on your budget what you get , you can get something as cheap as £40-50 up to £2000 or silly money.. but you get what you pay for.. I use a delta 1010LT at the moment (it's decent enough for the price and lots of options for expansion), which is nice enough, but I will get an RME AIO when they finally release them

realtek is a cheap chipset they fit as standard in a LOT Of pc's.. before it was AC97 or something.. cheapo things, that do the basics and not specialist for pro audio.

    OK

Much against my better judgement I've compiled a pdf file in a bid to prevent this question coming up as often, if nothing else.

It is should be viewed as a 'get out of jail free card' until your new audio hardware arrives. It's offered as is and has been tested with 32bit XP/Sonar 7.02, Realtek HD v1.93 driver and Asio4All v2.8.

If it don't work for you I don't care and I shan't be entering into ANY discussion about it other than saying "Get a decent Audio Card"..., so take it for what its worth but I hope it helps some.
