Realtime note Length adjustment?

I did a search and could't find an answer to this, I searched the manual too. there were some close answers in there but it was all post production, not real time.

I use a zendrum that sends out very short notes, I would like to be able to have the midi coming from it go throught a midi effect like Note Length in ableton live.

Note lenght takes it and adjusts it to any length I want up to a minute.

Does that exist anwwhere in Sonar X1 PE?

Thanks for any help. Riley

This might work... add the Quantize effect to the MIDI track FX bin and activate the Durations option. Then set the resolution to the note length you want.

Thank you Scott, but that doesn't do it either. There must be something real simple I'm missing, it seems like a common adjustment that would be easy to find.

I dont know if this will help , I been trying something similar but with audio instead of midi, I found 2 ways. One was to use http://www.voxengo.com/product/recorder/ and record realtime.
The other way that I been using is Kontakt 4 , I set loop points and automate the begining and end points of the loop.. Real nifty . This allows me to shrink and expand the loops end and start points. If you have Kontakt and need more info on to how to this , Let me know I will give you detail instructions how I am able to do this..
As far a midi goes , Im not sure how to . But you can bounce your midi to audio to accomplish what you want.

Interesting. It may work for notes too. I do use kontakt and I'm sure I can create or copy a note length script. I guess I could into my Spectrasonics instruments too.
I bet there's even a 3rd party note length midi plugin I could use. I just thought something this basic would be integrated somewhere.

Thank you for the reply, I'll look at instruments for a way to do it as well now. Riley
