Wouldn't it be great if SPlat had a lot of the features of Reaper? The themes are amazing and it's so stable too.
Don't get me wrong, I LOVE Sonar and have used it since the Atari St days of Pro 24.

Rack FX - TC Helicon Voiceworks Plus, TC Electronics M300

It's a fact of life, don't feel dirty. We all do it. That is, use other DAWs (sequencers).

this.
I've taken to using open- source trackers lately which are extremely fun to use.

Well... I'm enjoying the evaluation thus far

I like the way automations are copied... pretty much the same as a clip.

And I also like the stretch markers. I know you must be able to do the same in Sonar but it just seems a tad simpler in Reaper.

To be honest, I realise that I should really go back into Sonar and try something that I like how it's done in Reaper, just to be sure... It might be just that I haven't done the same in Sonar for some time. I'm certainly not what you would call a "power user," by any stretch of the imagination

I have just completed a MIDI project in SPlat using VSTis and such, created a full set of stems by bouncing individually to audio tracks. I then imported these into Reaper for a mix down. A nice workflow indeed.

Well... for forty quid, I've crumbled and bought this thing... Seems one of them "no-brainers."

CPU load appears to be a lot lighter than Sonar and more balanced across the cores.

Try that with Harrison Mixbus. You may be pleasantly surprised.

One caveat: MixBus 2.5 is 32bit only. 3.0 will be 64bit.

Thanks bapu. I might just do that when the 64 bit version is out.

Whoa! Hold on! Is Harrison Mixbury REALLY just $39 right now?

Reaper is a beast at $60 personal.  If you want a "minimalist" approach,
and already have 3rd party plugins, it is indeed a "no-brainer"

It's powerful, customizable, and inexpensive.  The included plugins aren't pretty,
but again, they are minimalist, and do the job.

Mixbus has the "sound" and seems to widen the stereo field somewhat.
Can't wait for MB3...with VSTi and MIDI support and 64 bit....
