Reassigning Copy/ Pasted FX Automation

Can't seem to perform the 8.5 function of copying automation then pasting it into another track then assigning it ( TV/ Rt Click- node / Assign to FX etc.)

How is this now handled in X1?

thanks

I should add that the copied automation gets pasted into the track but there's no way I can find to assign it.

Using the Smart tool, Shift+click on the envelope to make sure it is active. Then right-click the envelope and choose Assign Envelope to change it's data assignment.

    Thanks Scott,

That worked fine but am wondering why the additional 'Shift' is needed to select pasted automation as opposed to the normal right+click as it does with recorded or inserted automation.

Is there a way to copy/ paste the automation's' properties into the track, not just the levels / events & as it behaved in 8.5.?

Thanks for your help, appreciate it.

Press Shift is a quick way to change the track's Edit Filter control. Look up the term Edit Filter in the SONAR help.

I'm not sure what you mean by automation properties?

    Thanks Scott,

By properties I'm meant the corresponding fx in the track that's being copied. i.e. pasting the fx send into the track as well & not just the automation events. Haven't used 8.5 in a while but seems to me that how it used to function.

I have to start using the Smart tool more I guess, I'm not a real fan of the way it works so I tend to avoid it.
