Rebuilds suck

I have Sonar 8.3 pro, and it's always worked well. I used to ruin it on XP? My entire system crashed multiple times... I am currently re-installing/re-building on Win7... I'm hoping for a long life before I have to S-Can it and go with X? on a new system. I know that most here have gone through this? And if you haven't, you will... "Rebuilds suck."

You have to go through issues with the new OS? Your current licences, issues between what you already bought vs. what you're trying to install, etc. etc. etc...

I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy (but I would wish it on my ex...)

I'm in the middle of it now...7pe on XP to X3 on Win8.1.  However the new computer makes things nice and fuzzy warm.  Lots to learn, 1/2 of my stuff still not installed....but I did get the Melodyne upgrade.

I totally agree with your statements.  Kind of wasted daylight (or nighttime) hours making sure things load, download, clicking "ok"...etc.
Then there's figuring out 8.1 and the goofy "desktop"  Seems like I'm clicking 3Xs as much to get where I used to go before.

Oh...new interface too?   I'll shoot someone if USB goes out of date in the next year.  I remember the firewire rage.  What happened to that?

My rebuild for X1 went smooth as baby's behind. I've since installed X2 and X3 on the same machine. Hoping to do even more with this one.

I've seen baby butts that had a distinct odor to them!   Smooth here too...but lots of non-musical hours, for sure.

I've got to do it this year. I've started making a list of what I've actually got and I've got to find the installers and registration codes and serials, which is all conveniently hidden within 10,000 emails.

    10,000 registration codes???? WOW!!!
Have we found that someone who has more plugins than Bapu?? & Olpal put together??

    This can't be so......

    or could it??

    I had a smooth transition from 8.5PE to X1, X2, & X3 as well. Of course I only had XP & Vista for 8.5 and X1....
The only problem I had was OS issues with the update to Win 8.1........other than than that, it was just time consuming to install everything.
I also keep all my registration codes/serials in one folder in my email........not even close to a 1000, more like a 100 (if that).

No. The emails are within that grand total. I had all my stuff in magnificent order and didn't know it was only kept on that computer and not on the server. The computer hard drive went south and so did that. I had everything backed up bar this one thing because I thought it was anyway. They are all there, just got to find them among the 10,000. It does have a search facility but all the junk from those companies appears as well.

I don't have anything like the amount of some on here.

I'm going to lock down my computer when I upgrade to windows 7 or 8. I've virtually stopped buying as it is. The time it's going to take though is putting me off and me and computers are a nightmare. I break everything I touch. It's a given!
