Recent first-time listens worth recommending

Thought I'd give this a general subject in case others have recently stumbled across solid records/songs to mention of any sort.

Over the weekend I received an iTunes promo email for a couple albums at $5.99.

I saw John Mayer's Continuum album on that list - had never listened to it. I had a few of his songs but not many.

On a whim I downloaded Continuum and put it on my phone.

I can't stop listening to it. Great record! Reminds me a little of the early Dire Straits records - spare, authentic sound. Inspired and tasteful playing. Consistently good song after song.

If you've never heard it, it's a find.

Two internal 2TB SSDs laptop stuffed with Larry's deals and awesome tools. Studio One is the cat's meow as a DAW now that I've migrated off of Sonar. Using BandLab Cakewalk just to grab old files when migrating songs.

    Hi,

I always make room for first time listens of new things I have not heard ... and I took one thread that had a list of psychedelic/progressive stuff and went thought it ... and one kinda gets surprised here and there, but in general ... it was all rather ... not really interesting and considering it "progressive" was even an insult to "psychedelic" in that listing I listened to, but yeah ... there were some nice things.

I rarely listen to things that are songs, and experimental music tends to be more interesting than someone's words here and there in yet another song. As LZ used to say ... "the song remains the same".

Music is not about notes and chords! My poem is not about the computer or monitor or letters! It's about how I was able to translate it from my insides!
