Recomendations for an Ethno soft synth

Hi all ,
I have been interested in incorporating some Ethno sounds into my music for a while now
and I'm not sure whats out there ,
the only thing I have heard personaly is one Marko used on one of his tunes in the songs forum...the RA...
I looked around in the Dim Pro expansion packs ,
they seem OK ..a little tease factor involved ...
I need more
anybody have recomendations ?
usualy I have to plan way ahead ....for purchases...not a prob ..when buying Cakewalk gear..my Trust level is High as far as loyalty ...to them
not sure what a decent set of sounds are gonna run..and what sort of issues are involved
most of the synths I have came with SONAR and P 5
other than the Dim Pro ... all else are freebies ....
thanks
Kenny

    Hi Kenny,

it depends what kind of ethno sounds you're looking for. Yellow Tools and Ethno Instruments have some, but I've never heard them. Kong Audio has a lot of Chinese instruments and they have received rave reviews in Soundonsound. I hope this will jumpstart you...

    Hi Sonic ,
    thanks for the responce,
African, Chinese, Latin , Persian ,Indian ,Celtic,..World acoustic sounds.....
    the instruments...and percusion..sounds
these are the instruments and sounds I'm looking to incorporate ,
or a least be able to emulate to some extent (convincinly ?)
by adding them to my sonic pallet.

I saw an ad in the Sweetwater cat....for an instrument called the Motu Ethno Instrument
haven't heard it yet and I havn't seen much about it on the forums...
it seems like it could work...
I'm a little cautious about my purchases ....
a lot of times I will go with a got to have from my short list......

ex if I can't find an Ethno instrument set that will work for my situation
or if a good one's starting cost is $500.....
I will probaly get something else I know I need for less money...
....untill I can afford something like the Quantum Leap RA

    LionSound,
yeah, the Ethno by Motu is one that I'm asking about...
I saw an ad for the Ethno and it interested me as a possibility
finaly got to thier page to hear some...
curious about any one who has it and uses it.

    torhan,
thanks for the links, some selection to chose from
tried a few of the freebies a while back ....on my old system..might try them on the one I'm using now ...they might work better
I got the chance to listen to the RA...whew nice one ...
..it might be a while before I can swing that one ,
I see a few on the list I will have to look into more closely.....
    thanks
    Kenny
