Recommendations for a good clean e-guitar library?
I know Platinum comes with Strum Session (which sounds like a synth without any distortion), so I would like to know your thoughts for clean e-guitar libraries. Only two requirements: - Under $100.
- Suitable for a non-guitarist. (ie. not something like Vir2's Electri6ity)
I don't need a library for something like a lead, but for being in the background. So, it doesn't need to be the most realistic library, but it shouldn't sound like a synth, either.

Specifically for basic acoustic rhythm guitar tracks? My go-to for that is Acoustic Guitar Collection from Indiginus. Forty bucks, fifty if you add the Remix add-on (recommended). 17 guitars, including double-tracked (my favorite is the double-tracked 12-string). I don't use the strum sequencer myself, preferring to play everything on the keyboard, but the strum engine seems simple to use and supports user-definable chords.
All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to. My Stuff

Indiginus is definitely on my shortlist. But, then again I'm not really after acoustic guitars. I'm more after clean e-guitars. But nice suggestion, though. I'll keep an eye on it.

Did you have a listen to the Gibson Les Paul Gold Top programs in Dimension Pro? Run it through TH3 Clean for a nice amp sound. https://www.cakewalk.com/...Cambridge-Update-Notes The Gibson Gold Top Expansion Pack derives its programs from 50 samples of individual notes, played through the neck pickup of a ’57 re-issue Les Paul Gold Top guitar. In addition to capturing the guitar’s rich neck pickup tone, additional programs take advantage of Dimension Pro’s processing options to go beyond guitar. The Basic Neck and the Jazz Guitar sound clean to me. There are other preset sounds in that list that have been processed, but those particular two sound like good clean samples. With Dimension, since the multisamples are all there, you could always use those samples to create a program more to your liking ...

Thanks for the heads up on that. I just recently got Platinum, but I completely forgot about Dimension Pro. I'll check on it as soon as I can.

This isn't electric either, but it's free, and if you get along with it, they have Gibson 335 or telecaster for $95 with the christmas sale.
Thanks. Ample-sound are on my shortlist, as well. I'll have to check the free ones to gauge how they work, though. Are they difficult to play for the non-guitarist?

When you say e-guitar, are you looking for clean electric guitar tones? If so, I think all these libraries come with a variety of tones (clean, distorted etc...). Check out
I had a look at their guitars and they're almost exactly what I want. Sadly, it's way out of my budget right now.

Indiginus Renegade then. It's sampled clean and various presets give you a wide range of tones using Kontakt's effects. BUT it needs the FULL version of Kontakt. Orange Tree Samples stuff is a bit more expensive but will run in the free Kontakt player. In my opinion they have the best strumming engine. Evolution Strawberry or Evolution Stratosphere would be the one to look at. Automatic chord detection and a lot of pre-defined patterns make it easy to get decent results but you can take it a lot further as you learn. Both have clean, crunch and distorted presets.

Well, I have Komplete 10, so Kontakt isn't an issue for me. And I'm almost on the verge of buying the hollow-body Archtop from Impact. But it doesn't sound electric enough to me, if that is even a thing.

Indiginus Renegade is a sampled Telecaster, a solid bodied guitar that will sound more "electric" than a hollow body archtop. It would be the simplest and cheapest option seeing you have Komplete.

Is it a jazz tone you are after then, but electric. The 335 from Amplesound should give you that as a semi hollow body.

Wow, the 335 sounds beautiful. It's much better than Impact's guitar for sure. But sadly, I realize my mistake that I don't actually need a hollow body guitar. Sorry for that. The tone I'm going for is closer to Indiginus's Renegade, but a bit less.....funky? EDIT: This is exactly the kind of style I need it for: https://soundcloud.com/ample-sound/newguitarThe lead that kicks in at around 1:00 And before the amped guitar kicks in at around 0:40

Tracy does not do sales. Why would he, when his products are already half the price of his competitors'? I like knowing I can buy a vendor's products any time of year, when it suits me, and not feel cheated because I missed a sale.

I feel exactly the same. I've been following them since they posted a teaser for Renegade. But I was asking because if they do indeed go on sale, I would literally love Indiginus even more.

Everything Glyn said... Renegade and Tourch from indiginus are the deals of the bunch Any of Orange Tree's electrics are just mind blowing... a bit more expensive but more deaply sampled and a consistant, ever evolving, best is class by far engine/gui... Both Tracy and Greg (OTS) are real people, great to work with. As performance poducts, OTS is by far the best... the strum system is just amazing, easy to use and extremely powerful; His effects are tightly integrated and you don't need an amp sim to get monsterous to beautiful tones... My personal favorites are Stratosphere (just an amazing Strat), and Dracus,a monster of a guitar, description below: Hailing from the fiery core of the earth comes the hottest virtual 8 string guitar library for metal and rock. Evolution Dracus covers a wide variety of techniques and articulations, whether it's epic shredding leads or gigantic quadruple-tracked rhythm tracks. The sample library boasts an expansive note range, from piercing shrieks in the highest register to monstrous growls emanating far below a standard 6 string guitar's capabilities. Evolution Dracus's robust effects engine features a myriad of virtual stompboxes, rack effects, amps, and guitar cabinets to select from. The library also includes a ton of factory presets for instantly usable clean, crunchy, and distorted tones. Key Features: - Multitracking up to quadruple tracking. - Adjustable pick position using our proprietary physical modeling technology. - Various vibrato styles, from classic vibrato to rock and metal vibrato with adjustable depth/speed.
