Recommendations please for replacement MIDI Keyboard / controller for Sonar Plat - FIXED !

As stated in my thread title...

Looks like the Windows 10 anniversary update has finally knocked my Edirol PCR out of action. I performed the hack on the driver that was posted on the forum last year when I upgraded to Win 10 on my DAW and it worked fine. However, the anniversary update seems to have finally polaxed the driver. (Shame on Edirol for not producing and maintaining a Win 10 version but thats how some companies like to shift the latest product) So, although I am going to try a few more things, I have to consider that it wont (as forum buddy Fireberd has indicated to me in the hardware section of the forum) and that I need a replacement - and fast as I wont be doing much without my MIDI keyboard.

I want to go for something similar, and not too wacky or difficult to set up, preferably good with ACT, with aftertouch, but weighted keys aren't too important to me. Am I really just describing an A-PRO - or is there something else I should be considering?

Cheers

I'm using an A-Pro800 and I love it. Really depends on  the features you're looking for.
The keyboard keys don't feel too cheap compare to others in the same price range.

Hi Slyman, thanks for the heads up on using the A-PRO, I am sure it is a slight increase in quality with the PCR, which does not have touch sensitive pads, however, I have a Korg PadKontrol which covers that for me. I never swung for one because the PCR still does it for me, although I have been looking this afternoon at regional dealers who might have one in stock if I need to replace quickly.

    STOP PRESS !

However - in the last few minutes I have managed to get the old Edirol Win 8.1 driver and the PCR working on my Windows 10 Professional 64-bit system once again ! The difference this time, was finding out how to access hidden troubleshoot options on Win 10 anniversary edition via a <cntr> restart...once I could do this, I could disable driver verification, amend the install batch file from 8.1 to 10 and.....well my PCR lives to tell the tale once again, despite being stranded at 8.1 by Roland....

If anyone else drops by this thread in the future - this was the link that cracked it for me.
    http://www.howtogeek.com/167723/how-to-disable-driver-signature-verification-on-64-bit-windows-8.1-so-that-you-can-install-unsigned-drivers/

Don't forget, visit the thread also to learn how to change the install batch file to change references from Win 8.1 (The last version of the PCR driver produced by Roland) to 10

    Hope this helps anyone else...
