Recommended Screen Size

Hi, What's a good monitor screen size for Sonar X1? Should I use two monitors? Is a laptop screen good enough? Will a laptop with one big monitor attached attached (so there are two screens) work even if there is a size difference. Thank for your advice, Jim

Size difference is no problem. Sonar can use Floating Windows which means the console view is dockable on another screen for example. Monitor size does not define resolution. It's all personal anyway - how much space do you need? I find a 17" laptop ok for edit view. I like my 23 inch 1920 1080 for console view - fit a nice number of tracks. It's worth understanding that the same amount of info will be displayed on a 20 inch 1920 1080 and a 46 inch 1920 1080 tv. The tv will just be bigger because it's for distant viewing. If you are sitting a normal distance away from the computer then 96-100 DPI is nice. Use this http://members.ping.de/~sven/dpi.html to calculate the size of info on a screen. So you could enter your screen size and resolution to find the DPI and decide if you could read any smaller or not. Then you'll enter the new screens size and resolution to check that the DPI (dots per inch) is not significantly larger.

Its all about personel preferenece. Therre is no "best settings". I use 2 24" widescreens and i love it. I have my screen resolution set to best fit me. what works for me may not work for you depending on your screen and screen size.
