I have always done a more or less default install. The only thing do is check that all 64 bit plugins are also installed. I don't see a problem with putting the Dim Pro samples and SD 3 samples on the C drive. though I have all my other samples for NI on a D drive as well as GPO. project are on the E drive.

I just did the same update you're doing. I've always put everything for Sonar on the C Drive. All my samples for instruments go on a drive (Dimension, Stylus, etc). Sonar projects and wave data are on a third drive.

Doncolga, did you uninstall X1, install in addition too or is the X1 install "upgradeable" to X2 . . . ?

Sorry about the post clones . . . only hit Submit once, got an odd error popup and the page crashed. When I reloaded it I saw the multiple posts and I don't see a Delete button or function . . .

No. No. No. No. (Sorry...I couldn't resist from all the duplicates that are popping up. ) I actually still have 8.5 and X1 all on this same machine. The download looks like a complete full install to me as it's HUGE. I skipped Dimension Pro as I saw elsewhere here that it's the same thing. X2 is a completely separate installation from X1 However, DON;T be tempted to uninstall or remove X1 as you might run into problems with shared plugins

I have had numerous installs of CWx and Sonarx on my PC all at the same time. In fact this is the only time that I have ever had only one version of CW on my pc other than the very first time I bought it way back. And the only reason I did that was because everything I wanted (in 64bit) was already in X2. My plan was to install both 32 and 64bit X2. But I just said let me try it with just 64bit. I never installed the 32bit version. Never found a need. What will happen is X2 will install in a completely separate folder inside the Cakewalk folder. But it will use your settings from the old install. So if everything was working good, and you had keybindings galore, and other personal settings, then the new install will see all that and apply them to the new version. To me this is the best reason to keep the old install along with the new stuff. HTH
