Recording Automation in SONAR, HELP!!

Hi, I've got a problem I can't solve and SONAR's Help doesn't really help. The idea is to simulteneously record 5 controllers from an external device. The question is "HOW to Arm the needed controllers". In the track view I can see only controllers 91 and 93 (reverb and chorus for GM), track volume (controller â„–7), pan etc. But I need to record other controllers, for example 71, 72, 74, some NRPN-controllers and Wheel. The problem can be solved using the track inspector - it allows to select any controller to be recorded, but it limits the number of controllers to be recorded simulteneously. I need more - what should I do?

You can still do it from the Track Inspector or Console. Even though there are only 4 simultaneous faders shown, if you arm one and assign Remote Control to it and then reassign it to something else, the parameter remains armed and remote controlled even though it can't be seen.

Or plan B: You could record the controllers as raw MIDI and then use Edit|Convert MIDI to shapes to convert them to envelopes.

Sorry to drag up an old thread...

I quote Bob: "Even though there are only 4 simultaneous faders shown, if you arm one and assign Remote Control to it and then reassign it to something else, the parameter remains armed and remote controlled even though it can't be seen."

My QUESTION: In light of this, is there anywhere in Sonar where I can see ALL the currently assigned, armed and/or remote-controlled MIDI controller "faders"? [These 'software MIDI controllers' are actually "widgets", correct?] If not...how do I keep track of what is assigned, armed and remote-controlled??

Seriously, does anybody know a way to do this, you'd think you'd be able to.

my guess - it's pretty much (still) fu**ed up .. i'm surprised to see this new piece of information from Bob

" if you arm one and assign Remote Control to it and then reassign it to something else, the parameter remains armed and remote controlled even though it can't be seen. "

WTF !? LOL .. is that the "PRO" way of designing a software these days ?

Yes...this seems like a mixed blessing. It's nice to know that I can assign & automate more than 8 parameters/controllers (4 in Track Inspecter, 4 in Console -- apparently independent of each other). But it seems silly to set them for Remote Control operation and/or arm them....and then send them off into the ether. That could cause...uh...issues later, if I can't remember what was assigned, armed, remote-controlled, and so forth. :-\ Guess I better write things down!
