Recording Problem!!!

Greetings, I'm having trouble hearing MIDI, Audio works but MIDI doesn’t. The first tutorial is in MIDI and does me no good... I have a Creative Audigy2 ZS Soundcard with an Asus mb, and Sonar recognizes the card with 2 MIDI IO. I’ve tried every possible Input/Output combination with no luck. Audio works fine, except the metronome records into the track I'm recording. So I made the metronome its own track, now I go to record a new track and the metronome from track 1 is recorded into track 2 also, Pain in my rear... I have selected the right devices and moved them to the top of the list. Anything i've recorded in audio is picked up by the other audio tracks unless its muted. So I still cant step up and record to a click track. Is it Possible to set the metronome to headphone only? I NEED HELP!!!

You must set the Output port in your midi track to either the Synth on the Creative card (once it's selected as a Midi output device), to an external midi port that's connected to an outboard hardware synth, or to an project-inserted DXi/VSTi synth.
