Recording VST MIDI Loops to Audio

I'm using Sonar 8 Producer with the ASIO4ALL driver. The first time I tried to record EZDrummer MIDIs to an Audio Track, I had no problems. Well, I recently got Amplitube Metal and was messing with some setting and now I can't get my EZDrummer MIDIs to record to an Audio Track anymore. I set everything up as it's supposed to be (I think) and I get no levels in the Audio Track. If I arm it and try to record, I get flat lines. I've got it to work twice but never seem to know what the formula is to get it back to where it will record again. Any help would be much appreciated. I'm very frustrated at this point and I can't seem to find the same scenario anywhere online or these forums. Maybe I'm asking the wrong questions. Hope someone can help me.

You're not supposed to record the EZD (or any soft synth) MIDI to audio,  you bounce or freeze.
No need to find the "scenario" on the forum, reading the manual about soft synths is enough to learn these basics and more. There's 1500 pages of info. There's also a tutorial about using soft synths.

1.) I do use the manual and I've followed the tutorial. I just don't think I'm understanding everything. I'm new to software recording.

2.) When I try to bounce the MIDI track to Audio, I get any error that says no audio is found.

You need to select both the MIDI and audio output track for bouncing to track, or use the freeze option in Synth Rack.

Thanks a bunch man! Freezing did the trick for me.

I think the reason you might have been getting that error message is, that you needed to click in the edit window. I have had that happen also, but as soon as I do a mouse click in the edit window, then try to bounce, it works.
