Recording young bands

Here's a couple of links to some of the stuff I've been doing over the past 12 months while I've been away.

Everything recorded on MC4 and filmed with Canon HXA1 with loadsa smoke.

The young band (The Alleys) have an average age of 14 years. Great to work with such good kids with enthusiasm.

Enjoy :)

    good work...sound was good.

edit: the alleys... since they are young... it was good. One crit...tune the guitars....they were close but slightly out of tune.

    I agree Herb.
There should be NO excuse for out of tune equipment, although trying to organize 4 exited didn't help. :)

Some of the bands I was in at 14..... man I wish they had sounded half that good.... and that we had  this kind of technology back then.....  The Beatles were just recording 4 track tape and many bands were doing one take recordings.....

    Technology now is unbelievable.
If we had had it 20 years ago we would all have all been masters of the music trade by now!
The Alleys say their musicianship and technique improved by 50% as a result of recording a couple of tunes in the studio. Its great to see them progress.

They write all their own stuff and I wouldn't be suprised if they get somewhere in a few years.

    This is their first attempt

Pretty cool, Alan. Keep it coming.

As far as new stuff, I'm in the same boat as Beagle. Can't seem to get anything finished. I have 5-6 songs started, but...

I am selling my MIM Fender Stratocaster HSS, red and black. PM for more details.

Music Creator 2003, MC Pro 24, SONAR Home Studio 6 XL, SONAR  X3e, CbB, Focusrite Saffire, not enough space.
    Everything is better with pie.

Cool stuff Alan.... That first band was really tight and I remember how much better things sounded after spending good money for studio time!

Hey this sounds and looks great! Nice job!

Where did you get the footage of the riots of the MTN video? I've been looking for a source of free video clips to do a video for some of my tunes but haven't had much luck.

    Thanks Mitch,
Tell me what you need, I've a small library of stuff, might be able to help!.
    Youtubes good for most things.
Unfortunately the Youtube stuff isn't the highest quality and needs a bit of processing as the files are comprssed to death People's usually  keen to let you have their stuff if they think its going to be used in a (Hopefully) decent video.

So you're the videographer?  Great job!  Yeah, it's great seeing kids being able to get into music in a serious way so young.  When I see kids sitting around, wasting their time, bored to death, I wanna remind them of the opportunities (and time!) they're wasting.

    Really cool stuff!
