This song started out about a job I once had, But, by the time I got to the chorus, I thought it best to write it as a love song. Howerver, this is the way I felt about my job also when I wrote it. I loved my job, but some people just use you, that's it.

You definitely have your own style. good writing, good performances and some catchy melodies. My only suggestion would be to mix up the songs a tad more production-wise. Have some just acoustic or just piano or all guitar or more dry vocal or super wet, or more backups. Your obviously a creative, talented person, maybe channel some of that into the actual sounds/mix presentation. Just my take on your stuff. I still love "The nights are long without you" that chorus is super catchy. Also the notes at 1:21, 3:14, and 4:40 of this song are out of tune. It's basicly the same spot in the chorus's I think. Sorry if this sounded harsh it wasn't meant to be, because I do like alot of your stuff.

Hey Terry, nice job with this. A love song that doesn't get too sappy. This has a very 70's British feel to it to me. Almost like a Badfinger or Sweet style of ballad. I'm no authority on mixing, so I won't comment on this other than to say it sounded pretty smooth to me, other than a couple of false notes. I really liked this tune.

Terry, good ballad, well written and - as always - good structure. I did find it a bit slow through the verses though.
Some of the drum fills just don't sound right to me - timing wise. The first part of the chorus and the strings arrangements - to me - were the best thing of this song.
My favourite songs of yours are 'She loves you' and 'Jamie's Sorrow' - but I am still waiting to hear something faster and more upbeat.
    Heinz.

    Heinz,
I have just about completed an upbeat song "Lovin You Is Easy"
I was away on a trip, so I have some catch up to do.

The false notes I was referring to are the same note sung during the chorus. When you sing the word "sure" the last bit of it sounds a little off to me. It sounds right when you first start that note but doesnt follow the melody well on the end of it. With the tempo of the song, perhaps you could shorten "sure" and lengthen "used" to make the metering and phrasing still sound okay. That's the only thing I picked up on. Hope this helps.

    Hey Terry,
i like the tune and arrangement, although it could sound nice with a little filling out with more string parts and B.Vox on the chorus but everything flows right on this one.
The tempo does seem a bit too slow (i know it's a slow piece it's just that bit too slow)
and the drum fills only need to do a fraction of what they are doing at this kind of pace.
All gripes aside though, i do think this is a solid song, i'd just suggest you do a take two.

Hi Terry. Nice to hear your music again. I really liked this and think it excellent all around with the exception of the strings. I think they're fantastic as far as placement, performance and all but they dominate in volume from time to time and take away from the vox at times. Very minor and only a bit. Fantastic tune overall.

I Still would like to work with you as well. I sent Beautiful Girls, but never heard back. Did you get a chance to work with it?

Bobby, I'm not sure what you mean by "it's too loud though"?

Terry, this sounds great IMO. I really wish you would post that Monkey's tune we worked on DAYDREAM BELIEVER, I lost those master tracks because of a hard drive crash, even if you aren't going to post them please send them to me becase liek I said I lost them, I also Would like to work with you on some other projects.

Your mix is somewhat like my latest to be honest, it's too loud though, your trying to accomplish too much in too short a space so to speak.  JMO.........

    Excellent!!!!!!!!!

Nice job.  This is a good song. I enjoyed it.

The vocal was very clean and clear.... Good!

The strings were a bit overpowering at times.  They sound good so it's tempting to push them a bit.....

    Nice job Terry

Thanks Guitarhacker, I fought with the strings in the chorus alot. I love the way the stings came out in the verse though.

Sweet! Now if you could just bring up the vocals to match the rest of the mix you'll be in business.

Really good song. It's nostalgic for The Beatles, Herman's Hermits and stuff like that.

    Very well done!

My wife has seconded that. I will get it done on my next day off. However, days off are hard to come by these days. I think i had a day off about a month ago. I been working so much , I can't remember when my last day off was. I will have to talk about that with my boss. I think there is laws about working more than 14 day without a day off. LOL

I was about as big as a Beatles fan as a person could be at one time. I could only hope that greatness has rubbed off on me, in even a small amount when it come to the Beatles. Thank you for the mention. I do have to work on the 6th Beatles ( George Martin) part of things alot more. I believe the vocals need to come up a bit, without loss of the other end.
