Refresh rate setting for bus waveform preview.
Is there a setting somewhere to increase the refresh rate of the bus waveform preview thanks in advance :)
I have empirical evidence this is true... (Bender told me!) Cakewalk by BandLab, Splat and other DAW's PC = Win 10 64 Bit, i7 3770, 16Gb RAM, 256GB Samsung 2.5’ 840 PRO SATA6GB/s SSD 1, and 2 x 2Tb Internal, Monitors = 2 24” Samsung SA450 and 1 20” Dele Edirol = Octa-Capture-UA1010, Quad-Capture-UA55, PCR-500, Berringer 2 x FBC 1010 Alesis Control Pad KRK monitors

I believe it is controlled by the WavePreviewSampleFrequency setting in Cakewalk.ini http://www.cakewalk.com/D...p;Req=INI_Files.4.htmlUse Preferences > File > Initialization File to change Cakewalk.ini. "Initialization File" is an advanced setting, make sure "Advanced" is selected at the bottom of the Preferences dialog to see the selection.

I believe the WavePreviewSampleFrequency variable defaults to the best rate. By default it samples once every 40ms. Raising the value will skip samples.

Hi scook Yes I just read that so sonars default setting is set to max refresh rate. That's a shame. I've set a short loop with one bass note and on each pass the waveform shape varies considerably. The reason I'm doing this is to explain side-chain techniques (kick reducing a bass note) to some students and wanted to give then a visual representation.

So any other ideas on how I could make the "wave preview" more stable?

What about creating a groove clip from the audio and roll it out, bounce the tracks to illustrate before and after side-chain. BTW, there is a Cake TV video on side-chaining which does a good demonstration although it does not have a graphic illustration of the effect.

Thanks again scook. Yes thats exacly what I was doing while waiting for a reply scook there is a Cake TV video on side-chaining which does a good demonstration although it does not have a graphic illustration of the effect.
Again Yes! - "SONAR Go Deeper - ProChannel Sidechaining"
also used - Sonar X1 - Sidechaining in Sonar X1a
- Sonar X2 - ProChannel - Sidechaining - 4 different uses
But still... It would be nice if the "wavepreview" was a tad more responsive(If only I could fit a turbo charger on it... lol) Thanks for your input :)
