Registered 32-bit Audio Damage plugins not showing at all in X1 or 8.5 (Win7 Pro SP1)

I recently put together a new computer so I could run X1 (it wouldn't run at all on my WinXP Pro SP3 machine). Everything seems to run fine, except my Audio Damage plugins (ADverb, Discord3) will not show up in Sonar (either version) at all. I've written to Audio Damage and we've ascertained that I'm running the right versions. They say they've heard of this before, but have not found a reason for it. I use Xlutop Chainer for quick access to plugins and to test them after install, and the two plugins show up there (after reinstall) and seem to work fine, but Sonar's plugin manager doesn't see them. Does anyone know anything about this, or have any ideas what the problem might be? (How the hell does one start a new paragraph on this forum?? Everything is running together here.)

Sonar Platinum (64-bit); many CW PC modules; endless plugins (most of which SPLAT doesn't list); Edirol PCR-800; Win10 Pro 64-bit; Focusrite Scarlett 6i6 interface; lots of hardware I don't actually use anymore; 1972 Rickenbacker 4001 bass (Chris Squire days); other basses, guitars, mics, etc.

Thanks. How far back? (I'm using 9.01.) Or is there some way to force a linefeed char or something?

Someone here said Firefox version 3 or 4 is the last one that worked correctly on this particular forum.

I use Chrome instead of Firefox for this forum.
With regards to Audio Damage stuff, I have all of their plug ins  - I can use them all OK in Windows 7 64 bit Sonar X1 set up. However if I remember correctly (sorry not near my Sonar X1 Computer) I did have to use Jbrdige on a couple of them I think. Why not try this as I am sure this sorted out any issues.

Just a note here regarding plug-in manager, or anything that is in the scope of Cakewalk's shared folders.

If you had the plug-ins showing up in 8.5 and the latest update knocks them out bear in mind that the plug-in manager is in one of the Cakewalk 'shared' folders so if the problems started after the update it is likely to do with the new version it installed.

Similarly those with 8.5 installed along side X1d are reporting that 8.5 has suddenly been blessed with 64 bit Rewire.

So the good news is that everything in the Shared folders gets updated to the newest versions, the bad news is everything in the Shared folders gets updated to the newest versions.

To that end it may be worthwhile setting the options on the plug-in manager to 're-scan' failed plugins and also 're-scan' all plug ins at least once after any update so the newly installed plug-in manager starts with a 'clean sheet' as it were.

btw this post was created in Firefox 3.6.28 which is still a currently supported version of FF and works perfectly.  It recieves security updates regularly because of the fact it is still currently supported, in fact it was last updated a week or so ago.

Some like the latest, I still prefer the greatest which 3.6 still is.

As far as "forum run-on," maybe Cakewalk can update their outdated forum software.

    Nigel,

I'm running 32-bit (bought the PC that way and didn't want to install 64-bit from scratch), so I can't use Jbridge, AFAIK.

Much as it pains me, things seem to work fine in Internet Explorer, so I'm using that for the forum.  Thanks again.

Jonbouy, I think you've hit on the issue.  I went into 8.5 and did the rescan, as you suggested, and the plugs appeared, but still didn't work.  I looked at the properties in the Manager, and they were all disabled for some reason.  I basically copied settings from plugs that are working and now the Audio Damage plugs work--in 8.5 and X1--too.  I tried to figure out what was different, as I'd done all this before--and I already had done the X1d update.  The only thing I could think of is that I removed the shared folders from the scan list in 8.5 because I didn't think anything there applied to 8.5; it was all ProChannel stuff.  When I went back today, it was there again, so clearly it needs to be and Sonar put it back.

I actually thought I had to scan in 8.5 and X1 separately whenever I installed a plugin, but that seems not to be the case.  I still don't know exactly what the problem was, but as a result of following your suggestions everything seems to be fine now, so thank you for your help.

As for Firefox, I've finally grown used to the newer versions, so I'm not going back to the 3.x series; I'll simply suffer IE to use this forum, but it is rather strange that more modern versions of FireFox are totally incompatible with this forum.

Yes if X1 sets up a scan in the shared plug-ins folder for the pro-channel vst's isn't the problem though.

What happens is the plug-in managers list doesn't full scan the target folders unless you specifically tell it to, it will just detect changes in those folders and for the sake of speed will only update anything that it considers has changed.

The point of doing this full scan (especially after an update) is it will completely renew the plug-in list.  It can take quite awhile so it only needs to be done once per update or if for some strange reason certain plugs don't show up as a first course of action.

I'm glad it worked for you.

I have Replicant 1.5 there's a confirmed issue with Sonar and only with sonar , I contacted them and they confirmed it, they said they could not find the issue and are embarrassed, ( very Nice People ) ..
Installation was not the problem for me .. But as said above you need to direct sonar to scan the appropriate folders..
What I have run into in the past what might be your problem is , when you install your software you are directing it to a certain folder and for some odd reason, it installs somewhere else.
2 things you can do is either do a search for the .dll and then direct sonar to scan that folder or find the .dll and drag it into a folder that gets scanned already..  Glad you got it working doing a full scan...

To anyone who decides to buy Replicant ,note changing the time signature can not be done, your only able to use presets and modify from there..
