Registering Dim Pro

Hi all,

Apologies in advance, because I know this issue has been repeatedly dealt with, but I can't seem to find out what I need, and I haven't had a response from Cakewalk.

I have upgraded from 8.5 to X1. I was very nervous (after reading this forum), but all went well, and I seem to be able to use X1 fine (including using old projects in X1).

However, I have had problems with Dim Pro. I upgraded, as directed, from 1.2 to 1.5. I then went to put the 'additional material' (I'm usuing a disc installation) from the fourth disc and was told I didn't have a registered Dim Pro, so it wouldn't run the install of that disc. I can open Dim Pro as an administator, as advised, and I can open Dim Pro as a stand-alone and in X1. It all seems to work fine. But my problem is this: I have a registration code, but I can't seem to get Dim Pro to give me a dialogue box to put it in. Am I missing something here? Amd I being a complete idiot? (I'm pretty confident with using SONAR, but less so with general computer issues).

Anyway, as I say, apologies again. I've been lurking on this forum for a year now. You guys give great advice, and I haven't ever had any major 'issues' with SONAR, but this has me stumped.

Best wishes,

Hi, I would suggest you do a search on this forum about the problem. There have been numerous posts about this. I do remember that you have to uninstall the previous version of Dim Pro and also go to the registry editor and get rid of all the Dim Pro info.
I am not sure but I believe someone posted to go to your registry and change the registration number of Dim Pro to the new one. I don't know if that works or not.
FWIW, I already had Dim Pro from Sonar 8.5. it was 1.2. I upgraded that version to 1.5 when I got 8.5. Easy to get the upgrade if you are a registered user. Then I downloaded the Expansion banks from Cakes website and installed. Run a scan and you are good to go. Never had to uninstall anything and runs like a charm.

Be sure to read all of the posts before you screw around with the registry. That could really cause problems. There may be a better fix in some of those posts. Again, Good Luck!

Wow. I was a bit nervous, having never changed registry keys before, but it worked like a charm. Once again, many thanks. There's no way I would have sorted this out with this forum's help.

    Best wishes,
