    Hi,

Just loaded and configured my X1 as well. . . Everything went without a hitch except the reg on Dim Pro tried multiple times but it gives me the same "invalid" message. Though I looked in "My Account" and it shows reg and serial?  If nobody else chimes in I'll call support tomorrow.

Go online to your store account on the cakewalk page and you will see your serial number and registration for Dim pro for Sonar X1.  I was stumped like that too.

I too purchased X1 recently. I bought the retail package which included a serial number in the box. During the installation it asked me to register so, I did. Three days later no email and no authorization code.

When i purchased the download there was a number, but it wasn't the serial number.

I went to the cakewalk account page and there is a line which reads" Dimension Pro with my recent purchase date"  - There is  serial and registration number for this item.   read it carefully!

If all else fails call support.
I had a similar problem a few years ago with Sonar itself. It was some kind of glitch & they gave me a totally new registration code.

Trock, I had the same problem.  I don't know if you had the old DP installed, but I think that causes the problem.  You need to uninstall your old version and the go in the registry and delete all mentions of dimension pro.  This is what I did and it worked for me, with some help from some other things found on this site:

    1) Uninstall Dimension Pro 1.2 and 1.5.
    2) Go into your registry using "Regedit."
    3) Search for an mentions of "Dimension Pro," and delete them.  NOTE:  Make sure you have the top of the Registry highlighted, so the search begins at the beginning of the registry tree.  Do this at least twice to make sure you've removed all dimension pro.
    4) Re-install Dimension Pro 1.5
    5) Then go into the registry again and look for the following Registry strings:

    1) HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/Cakewalk Music Software/dp/
    2) HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/Wow6432Node/Cakewalk Music Software/Dimension Pro
    3) HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/Wow6432Node/Cakewalk Music Software/dp

    6) One of those strings will have a value called "Product Key."  Copy the 1st registration code you recieved in the email from Cakewalk and paste it into the "Product Key," value you found in the registry string. (I think its found in registry HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/Wow6432Node/Cakewalk Music Software/Dimension Pro)

    7) Exit the registry and fire up Dimension Pro standalone and you should be asked to register the product any longer.

That's what worked for me......Hope it works for you!

    Hi Trock,
I was having the same problem. Last night I found this little fix . This worked perfectly for me, the registration, went through, and all is well. When following the instructions, I did the option of right-clicking on the Sonar shortcut on my desktop and clicking "run as administrator"..after that it was fixed... I highlighted the fix I used in RED  (this looked like the most straightforward one to try)...hope this helps:

Dimension Pro 1.5 Invalid Registration Code message when using the correct code

The information in this article applies to:
    • Dimension Pro 1.5
    • SONAR X1 Producer
If you have installed Dimension Pro from the full version 1.5 installation, you may receive an "Invalid Registration Code" message the first time you enter your registration code. This can be remedied by launching Dimension Pro with administrative privileges.

To launch Dimension Pro with administrative privileges, simply right-click on the Dimension Pro micro-host and select "Run as Administrator". (Windows Vista and Windows 7 only)

NOTE: SONAR users can also launch SONAR with Administrative Privlidges by right-clicking on the SONAR icon and selecting "Run as Administrator". Afterwards, create a project and insert Dimension Pro as a soft synth to bring up the registration dialog.

If you have deleted the shortcut to launch the Dimension Pro micro-host, you can find the Dimension Pro application by navigating to the following directories and locating Dimension Pro.exe or Dimension Pro x64.exe

    C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\Vstplugins\Dimension Pro

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Cakewalk\Vstplugins\Dimension Pro

NOTE: if you installed Dimension Pro to a custom location, the micro-host should be located in the same folder as where you installed the VST version of Dimension Pro.

Once entering your registration code you should receive a message that the code was accepted. If the above does not resolve your issue with registering Dimension Pro or if you need to obtain a registration code, please contact Customer Service.

    Hi all.

The same happened to me after upgrading to Win 7 64bit.

Thanks to Michael Lee i no longer have the issue, Dim Pro completely registered now.

Right clicked over the Dim Pro micro-host and ran as administrator, et voila!

    Thanks Michael.

Right click on the Sonar executable and select Run As Administrator. Then you can register it and you won't get asked anymore.

Since the solution to this was such a surprise (pleasantly) to me, I'd thought I'd post what happened.  Like the above, Dimension Pro 1.5 refused to register.  Doing the administrator trick didn't work either.  What did work was typing in the regcode character by character, rather than copy and paste.  I have no idea why, but am glad that mystery is resolved.  Onto the next......
