Registry Cleaner

Can anyone recomend a Registry Cleaner thats works, does not screw up the PC and will not result in the loss of valuable drinking vouchers or tokens.

Cheers

and it'll allow you to do backups of the rego if it messes up (not that it ever has the countless times I've used it, or on others machines)

others may recommend other things.. but well some have a NASTY habit of deleting things they shouldn't..e.g. certain files that knock the protection of some of the things I use. I have Naturally speaking.. and that was affected, I had to do a reinstall of it to get it working again.

as for ccleaner, well it's not messed up for the years I've been using it. Just be sure to check the install screens and don't just click or else you'll get a bonus toolbar for ya browser John.

+1000 for CCleaner... it's probably the SAFEST of the reg cleaners available because it doesn't go too deep, and I've never seen it screw up a system where other reg cleaners have.

    Hi-

Look at Ontrack's software - I use their Easy Uninstall (name doesn't depict everything it does), and I'm very happy with it. Visit http://www.ppcuginc.com/ReviewsPDF/EasyUninstall2000_1_02-02.pdf to get links. If you use this software and never "select by hand" any more than it enables you to select with the "Select All" button (for what it finds), you should never need to drink. I use the Fix Registry first, do it, go back, do it again, and again until the only data that is left is data you can't select with the Select All button, then click Done. Then I do the Cleaner after that. It will also uninstall software, and lists programs on your hard drive in ascending order so that you can see which ones are taking up more memory than other programs.

    Hope that helps-

Microsoft makes a registery & file cleaner. Works only with Explorer:
    Microsoft Cleanup
Can't vouch for the preservation of valuable drinking vouchers etc., though.
