Registry Error When Launching Some Files in Sonar

Hi,

Today, when attempting to use Music Creator 6 on my Windows 8 (64-bit) laptop, I got this error:

Click OK and this error shows up.

Clicking okay there will cause the program to crash.  This only happens with this particular file.

I have opened this file several times in the past with no error.  I have not installed any new addons or VST plugins.  In addition, the file opens fine in Sonar LE 4. (Minus amplitube not being installed on that particular software)  If anyone could please help me figure out what is going on, I would highly appreciate it!

EDIT - Found out the error does effect multiple files now.
EDIT 2 - System restore seems to have remedied the situation, but I'd still appreciate some insight as to what could potentially cause this.

Probably, one or more of the plug-ins in these projects was causing the problem. Should it happen again, you can isolate which plug-ins by opening the projects in safe mode. Hold the Shift key while opening the project.

Some experimentation has led me to believe that it has something to do with installing games on Steam.  I'm not sure why that would conflict with it, though.

That might be something to take up with tech support directly. Contact info here.
