Regular PRV's "Fit MIDI Content" doesn't zoom properly (Confirmed by CW)
Unlike the Inline Piano Roll view, the regular PRV fails to fit MIDI content (zoom vertically) properly. It regards even the notes that are out of the view as "content."
If you want to see how the two PRVs fit MIDI content differently, follow these steps...
1. Create a new project.
2. Drag a bass MIDI file (let's use MIDI Library > Bass > Funk > "Funk1.bs.mid") from the Browser into the Track view's blank area, at Bar 1.
3. Drag a drum MIDI file (let's use MIDI Library > Drums > Funk > "Funk1_drm.mid") from the Browser into the SAME track, at Bar 5.
4. Largely expand the track's height.
5. In the track header, select "Notes" from the Edit Filter drop-down list (so that you can see the Inline Piano Roll view in the Clips pane).
6. Adjust the horizontal zoom so that you can see only the first clip (Bar 1 and 2) in the Clips pane.
7. In the Track view's View menu, select "Fit MIDI Content." The notes in the first clip vertically fit the Inline PRV, as expected.
8. Adjust the horizontal zoom to make both Bar 1 and Bar 5 visible in the Inline PRV.
9. Again, in the Track view's View menu, select "Fit MIDI Content." The notes in the second clip vertically fit the Inline PRV, as expected.
10. Repeat steps 6 and 7. The "Fit MIDI Content" command works beautifully.
11. Now, hit Alt+3 to open the regular PRV, and make the view, or the MultiDock, smaller (about 10cm tall = 4 inches tall?)
12. Repeat steps 6 to 9 in the regular PRV, using its "Fit MIDI Content" command (in the PRV's View menu).
[Expected Result]
1) When only the first clip is visible:
2) When only the second clip is visible:
[Actual Result]
1)
2)
Also, if you check Edit > Preferences > Customization > Keyboard Shortcuts, you notice that PRV's "Fit Content" is assigned to Ctrl+F by default. But hitting Ctrl+F does nothing in the regular PRV. I think the other command "View | Fit MIDI Content" should be assigned to Ctrl+F by default.
