Reinstalling Process Guidance

My operating WIN 10 Pro SSD needs to be replaced so it's time for me to figure out how to best reinstall my lifetime SPLAT and then, Bandlab so I can have the best of both worlds.

Can someone detail the steps for me or point me to the existing simply written guide for this? Have searched but unsuccessfully.

Also, is there a way to save preferences, and to what drives data, audio files go to? Or must I do this manually all over again?
Thanks!

Using the Command Center install Platinum except for Addictive Drums and Melodyne
Install addictive drums using the XLN installer (you may need to go to your XLN account and deactivate the PC before reactivating)
Install Melodyne from your Celemony account (you may need to deactivate the PC before reactivating)
Using BanLab Assistant install CbB

It would not be bad if, before installing Platinum from Command Center, you install your old Program Data downloads (if you have already saved it). In this way you can speed up your Command Center downloads.

It is true, if one saved the installers from either the Cakewalk Command Center or BandLab Assistant - installation will go faster.

Thanks, guys, I'm getting there. A few bumps in the road. So far, I've installed all of SPLAT and a bunch of plug-ins, and melodyne essential and xln.

I'm clearly not an audio engineer and had set up everything to work well over the years. BUT, I made the critical error of not writing down or snapshotting all of my settings for preferences, all those little tweaks one does.

I have backups from the old system. Where is this type of settings info stored?

Thank you,
Chamlin

SONAR preferences are stored in the registry and ini files in %appdata%\Cakewalk\SONAR Platinum (aka SONAR user directory). There are other files in the user directory such as Master.ins and custom drum maps (when using the default drum map folder) that may be useful to move to the new install.

Thanks as always, scook. Sorry to be so darn remedial but I don't know which of these files are actually the right ones to restore from my old system. Don't want to add a file that will actually screw up SONAR. Can you or anyone let me know which the specific file names are for all of the the Edit - Preferences settings for:
--- Audio
--- MIDI
--- File
--- Project
--- Customization

Thanks much,

Sounds like its too late to copy your old settings from the previous install of Splat.
I keep all the folders you've listed on a separate drive so that if I have C drive issues I still have my data.
When you open "folder locations" in preferences you can point Splat and CbB to the existing location.
Drum Maps, Sysex and Plugin Layouts always end up on the C in the appdata Steve mentioned above,
so you have to go in and "fix" that.
I always download CbB with "Verbose" checked so that I can direct the installer to the right location.
Also, I "custom" install for the same reason.
Every installer known to man wants to dump everything on the C drive (obviously because every
computer has one) but in the interest of maintaining a "lean and mean" C drive (especially when using a SSD)
I only want the minimum necessary to make the program run efficiently.
