Re-installing X1 fixed my problem
I had X1-X2-X3 on my computer so decided to get rid of X1. Then my X3 files didn't load properly and I had to use safe mode. (I am thinking because I had a lot of V-vocal work done in the project and X3 was getting V-vocal from the X1 installation.) I am now re-installing X1. (that fixed it.) A simple solution would be to do System Restore, but for some reason my computer won't save and load restore points. I have searched the internet and tried different things but can't get it to work. I will fill you in if re-installing X1 helps with V-vocal working in X3. Yes, I know--learn melodyne again--I might be forced to. I used it years ago but have abandoned it. Thanks for your help. Sell by date at 9000 posts. Do not feed. @48/24 & 128 buffers latency is 367 with offset of 38. You had problems, because when you deleted X1, some X3 files where associated with it. You do not need to RE-INSTALL X1 to get X3 working again. Just re-install X3 again and those files will not be associated with X1.
This is all written ion the read me' files your suppose to read before installing. You do not need X1 to have X3 working. Your running 50 miles, when you just need to walk 10 feet.

CJay, what is with the "This is all written ion the read me' files your suppose to read before installing". You are likely to upset somebody, especially a professional, by making assumptions like that. Luckily, this time, you asked a patient person, but I admit, you are pushing the envelope.  The problem with trying to open the files in X3 is that Sonar was searching for V-vocal, which was part of my X1 installation which I had just uninstalled, hence red flag. If you would have read my post more thoroughly, you would have noticed that just like Steve C. did, who you also disagreed with. So, re-installing X3 would not have helped me, but re-installing X1 did. That is why I put solved. I should have just deleted the thread but couldn't see how to do that quickly/easily and I had a client in the room.

You just run X1 setup and just select vvocal if you have X3 already installed (no need to install X1), check it's in the vst file path then rescan. That's all you need to do.
If you have installed X1 in full after you installed X3 you stand to lose just the file associations if you just went ahead with the default. If I did that myself personally I would install X3 again as a precaution in case any newer reg entries or plugin files got overwritten....
... Correction I would uninstall both and do it like I initially suggested.. There may be no need to do this but I'm a cautious fellow.
