Relearning Sonar Yet Again

I've just started using version 7 (I haven't been able to keep up with all the changes since version 2-5). I swear you used to be able to go to options and tell it to stop setting the now time when clicking the right mouse button but of course that doesn't appear to be there anymore.

Anyone know where they went and hide that at??

    Woah!

I went to split an audio clip and it left a blank section to the left of the split. Totally unexpected, where the hell is that coming from! When I split audio I just want it split, not have a chuck taken out!

it might have something to do with the drag & drop setting,

check the blend option,in the dialog box.

right click under the clip view, you will see drag & drop option,

click on it,and check blend old and new box.

what happened to the clip after you split it,
(it might be another setting ,that i dont know for now..)

Did you find it the OPTIONS>GLOBAL OPTIONS>EDITING dialog? This sounds like behavior you might see if you don't have the blend old with new option selected. Though I can't remember if I've seen this happen with the slplit tool, or just when dragging clips around.
