Remap MIDI ports

Does anyone know a way to remap multiple track MIDI assignments (150+ files with 6-10 midi tracks each) en masse. That is, NOT open every file, and remap every track individually.
As an example the Remap MIDI devices dialog when you change MIDI devices. I can't use that because I didn't actually change devices. I just reinstalled drivers and all the ports recreated as -1; e.g. <3 UM 880 port1> became <2 UM 880 port1>. That's enough to completely break all the I/O mapping for every MIDI track.

Is the Remap MIDI devices function something I can invoke manually?
Any other way?
Anything that reduces1500 or so manual changes is useful to me.

Thanks in advance.

    You can reorder you midi-devices:
    Edit -> Preferences -> MIDI -> Devices
Select only one MIDI-out-device and click "move checked devices to top".

    Thanks for the reply.
I did try that. As far as I can tell, the ports are not bound to the order in Preferences>MIDI Devices.
As an example, I did manually massage one file to, say <UM-880 Port1>.
After reordering the ports with Move Selected Devices to top, I reopened that file.
It opened with all those ports as <2 UM-880 Port1> and continues to play correctly.
All the files I have not manually reassigned continue to not play correctly. Ugh.
I don't honestly know what the Sonar internal binding reference is for a MIDI track port output.

Have you tried the menu item Tracks>Property>Outputs>then choosing the MIDI outputs you want?  This will be applied to as many tracks as you choose at a time.

I don't honestly know what the Sonar internal binding reference is for a MIDI track port output.

I don't think Sonar ever has had a binding reference for midi track output ports.  Same as audio ports - if you bind them and then change audio devices, what happens?  Sonar has always just tried to work with what is available to it.
Apparently, reinstalling your midi drivers was the same thing as changing midi devices, so now everything has to be remapped.

Can't be done by any means that I know of. I have groaned about it for years. I own much hardware stuff. Change anything midi port wise and all files are wacked forever and you have to do exactly what you are having to do now to every song you have ever worked on. Good luck rememberring what is what. Some mighty poor iplementation. Do a search on some of my posts and you can see just how complex it can get with dozens of ports.

Couldn't find this in X1...then I thought this sounds like something in 8/8.5. So I opened a project in 8.5 and sure enough it's possible to change multiple tracks at once.
That's a big step in the right direction.
Don't know if that's gonna break some things when I reopen in X1. Guess I'm gonna find out.

    Thanks!

    Pianodano -
Yes I have a lot of hardware gear as well.
I'm a long time Sonar user and customer. That said, with each new version it becomes more audio centric/capable, and the MIDI functionality seems pretty stagnant. I do a lot of straight audio work so I welcome those improvements, but I'm also still using a lot of MIDI.
Particularly with X1 I'm finding myself going back to Sonar 8.5 to avoid MIDI related issues with my projects.
For this one you see my reply above that at least you can set the output property for multiple tracks in 8.5.
I'm going to look for that in X1, but I haven't seen it yet.
