Remember Zapp and Roger??

When I put my studio together in 2010, I had to sell my Yamaha SY99 to get new gear.  I arranged/played/recorded this song as a demo for the synth.  It was recorded at my brother's studio on Sonar 8.5.

And yes, that's my voice on the vocoder!  What a trip!  Check this out...

Who says I can't get funky??

Cheers!

Tony

Gladys would be proud of you, Tony, and so would Yamaha.  Now it's time for a country-rock version.

    All the best,

    Country-rock version.... hmmmmmm.... ya nut!

Thanks Mesh!  I had no idea how to work a vocoder when I recorded it.  It took me a day to figure out all I had to do was SPEAK, NOT SING....the keyboard (notes you play) does the melody!  How cool is THAT???

    Cheers!

I have a similar plug called the Vocalizer from Sonivox which does that as well as much more.......it basically takes any audio source (talking, drums, burps, noise, anything) and you can turn it into something very musical.....it's very cool!! Now, you've inspired me to start using that again!!

Great job again on all your music!!

    Thanks dub.

Mesh-  I think I've heard of that plugin.  It's amazing where inspiration comes from sometimes.  I once wrote a song based entirely around a delay sound built into my guitar amp!  LOL

    Cheers!

That sounds fantastic!  Great job arranging and recording - very creative.  Everything is mixed so well.  It is amazing how good that Yamaha sound.

Yeah, I thought for a vintage 1992 synth, it did pretty well.  Thanks dude.

    Cheers!
