(Remix) Walk Away (Collab with BayouBill)

I finally got around to a remix of the collab I did with Bill last year.

I originally did the back vox but Bill redid them.

Also I exercised some of my new mastering plugs.

Personally I would prefer that the vocal come clean without much effects.  You already have an delay effect on the guitar so with the vocal delay it is kind of too much.  However it is nicely sung so why color it?

@ Wookiee - thankee kind sir fur

@ Grant - yeah I'm liking it too.

@ Vechung - I hear what you're saying. Sadly I'm one of those that simply can't stand the sound of my raw singing voice. Maybe I'll give that a go though.

@ Bill - tahnks for telling me to post it again. I was not going to but you have 51% of the vote on this tune.

Looking forward to hearing it. Tone and style is spot on for this BTW, and Bapu's definitely getting the hang of producing that old time R&R. To be honest I've never been a big fan of the original melody for the verses on this tune. Too much patterned after that slide guitar part and no variation. I think Bapu pulled that off well considering the content. I've always loved the main hook/chorus part though. I defiantly like this version better than the original.

what a blast! Of course I loved the James Gang, but there's nothing wrong with an irreverent treatment of a favorite rocker. That little stutter step as "you just turn your pretty head" gets your attention. Well done, fellas.

@ Janet - thank for listening

@mcourter - yeah that line was something I stumbled on and really thought it made it mine

@scotty - If I could have sung the original melody it would have (IMO) been odd in the more country/swamp feel. But thanks for listening.

@ Reece - thanks for listening and recognizing it's a different rendition

@ CLEAN - thanks for liking this 'alternate' vision of he song

@ Tap - I feel like I'm getting better at my production chops. Now, if I could just sing.

@ mark - I'm working on giving my vox less treatment to see if I like it. Problem is, I don't like my voice all that much.

I may be a bit biased, but I liked the laid back vocal treatment from the first time I heard it, and Bill's harmony's definitely help sweeten it even more.  Still as well played as ever, and the mix sounds even better than the last version.
