Remove Effect from a Single Clip

Hi,
I have a songs. These songs have tracks. The tracks have effects and plugins assigned to them (via the effects bin). Is it possible to remove a plugin or effect from a single clip? For example, I have an effect in the track bin. However there's one clip in that track I don't want effected by the effect. I don't want to have to make a whole new track for just a single clip. Is this possible or am I SOL?

Use an envelope. See the section in the Help Menu on envelopes.

Depends. If the effect in question has automatable bypass or mix control, the easiest thing is to insert a track envelope as Dave suggested above. Not all effects lend themselves to be easily automated this way, though. If that's the case, create a new track and drag that one clip down into it.

All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to.

Or you can put the effect on a bus and automate the send level for that track

Another way is to put the FX in the track FX bin, do your settings you want and then control drag to all the clips you want it on(or all the clips) and then uncheck it in the individual clips you don't want it on.  Then you can delete it from the track FX bin.

I'm pretty sure the bypass in the FX bin is automation write-able as well.

I know you said you don't what to, but personally I'd just drag the clip down to a blank track. Certainly fastest method. If you had a couple dozen tracks I can see not wanting the clutter , but you mentioned only a few tracks so one more is not a issue. My 2cents

Thanks, all. I already had all the vocal tracks sent to a bus (the bus had the effect applied) so I just created a new track and sent that single track straight to the master. Not sure if that's the best way but at least it's done. Thanks again.
