Remove Silence Feature Request

As some know, the Remove Silence feature has been broken for a long time and I understand that Cakewalk intends to fix it. To this end, I thought I'd describe how I'd like it to work.

What I want is an automated version of my workflow.

I want it to split clips around drum beats and switch the clips that don't hit the trigger point to muted and those that do to unmuted with appropriate lead times and fades. This is how I do it manually.

This allows me to read the wave form to inspect that there are no drum hits that are being muted. I can quickly unmute clips and hunt for drum hits that were missed but the trigger point and add them, or undo the remove silence and change the trigger point and re-do it.

StudioCat > I use Windows 10 and Sonar Platinum. I have a touch screen.
I make some videos. This one shows how to do a physical loopback on the RME UCX to get many more equalizer nodes.

In addition is should be possible to choose if the clips which don't hit the trigger should me muted or removed. For drum editing muting is fine. When editing speech and you will remove the breathing and reorganize the clips later, deleting the clips is better. Both options should be possible.

This really, really needs an update.

One thing I'd really like to see would be non-destructive remove silence. So it would split the clips and get rid of any clips that fell below the threshold, but you'd still be able to slip edit things by hand to fine tune it.
