I do understand the OP. It's normal for a laptop to have, say, 320 Gb HDD. It gets full quite fast, especially if it's not a dedicated music machine, and a few liberated gigas can be really usefull. Of course you can install a bigger HDD, but that's a lot more work than deleting a software. At worst it means also re-registering some plugins etc. (I don't actually know how much hardware you can change before you need to re-register, say, Kontakt).

The benefit of being a middle aged amateur is the low number of years of frustration ahead of you.
