Removing PE8.5

Hi. I've recently installed X1b Producer. Is it safe to remove PE8.5 from my laptop to reclaim some disk space?

    If possible, I would keep it installed. If you remove it, you may need to reinstall some plug-ins that may be removed along with 8.5.

    Plus, if you have projects in 8.5, it's better to work on those in 8.5 and just start new projects in X1. You'll have less trouble that way.

    Like the man says, keep it on your system.

    The amount of disk space you'll reclaim is negligible.

    And if for some reason the reclaimed space ISN'T negligible, you need a bigger hard drive.

    I've got everything from 6PE onwards still on my system (apart from version 7)

    I do understand the OP.  It's normal for a laptop to have, say, 320 Gb HDD. It gets full quite fast, especially if it's not a dedicated music machine, and a few liberated gigas can be really usefull. Of course you can install a bigger HDD, but that's a lot more work than deleting a software. At worst it means also re-registering some plugins etc. (I don't actually know how much hardware you can change before you need to re-register, say, Kontakt).

    SONAR PE 8.5.3, Asus P5B, 2,4 Ghz Dual Core, 4 Gb RAM, GF 7300, EMU 1820, Bluetube Pre  -  Kontakt4, Ozone, Addictive Drums, PSP Mixpack2, Melda Creative Pack, Melodyne Plugin etc.
    The benefit of being a middle aged amateur is the low number of years of frustration ahead of you.
