Renaming Clip - Keyboard Shortcut

Minor niggle - has anyone found a keyboard shortcut for renaming a clip (I'm using X3)
I know I can do it in Clip Properties in the Inspector, but I tend to have that hidden in my main view (to maximise space for moving clips etc.), and it's quite time consuming to swap views each time just to name something.

Only a minor thing, but anything that speeds up workflow is a good thing.....

    100% agree.

Most Windows apps highlight an entire field once clicked; with SONAR it doesn't....you need to either manually erase current name or hit Ctrl-A to Select All, then input new text.

SOunds like a minor niggle, but if you use renaming to organize 30-50 clips in a session ( especially in Take Lanes), the current method is messy.

Sonar could really benefit from a better clip naming system.
Its probably not the highest thing on their priority list but I would still like to see it.

Use the shortcut F2 command in the inspectors "clip name box" to highlight the name. The F2 command in Windows does the same .

Unfortunately I've had F2 assigned to a custom binding that I've used for many years. Too stubborn to change it now :)

I'll give a look through the custom bindings preference page. Don't remember seeing one but maybe that has changed...

It still might work because once you click on an enter field in Sonar it typically switches to Windows Explorer shortcuts. For example CNTRL+C, CNTRL+V and so on.

I could be wrong but now I feel invested so let me know

We also search a simple methode to name thousends of audioclips.
Best would be in the event list - or a shortcut with a dialogbox as in earlier times.
To click on the clip and then move the mouse to the inspector is awful.
