Renaming NI plugins - different plugins and their outputs
In Sonar 8 and other older versions of Sonar KOntakt plugins were labelled differently and displayed the number of outputs etc. But in SOnar Plat they just named Kontakt and I have no real idea which is which until I try them out. Is there a way to sort this out, since this happens with Absynth and other NI plugins?

The VST name displayed in SONAR X2 and above is controlled by the VSTPlugInNameFormat variable in the Cakewalk.ini. Set the variable to 1 for the old behavior. See here for details about the variable and here on how to change it. Or use a custom plug-in layout.

Or you could use MenuMagic and not loose your changes when you run the VST Scanner

* VST/DX no problem. I believe pure ProChannel plugins are a different animal and are not handled by the VST system. Not 100% sure, I'm at client's at moment and can't check or validate this. I'll look more into this when I get back to my office later today. * Windows 10 x64 no issues.

+1 for Menu Magic. You can use the setting in preferences to do what you want, but Menu Magic has a lot more features and flexibility.
