Renegade Acoustic Guitar from Indiginus
Been playing with a beta version of this for a few weeks - it's quite good. And in keeping with Indiginus' longtime strategy of offering good stuff on the cheap, it's going for $59. Although that's described as an "introductory price", and Tracy hasn't said what the post-introduction price will be, I think we can safely assume it'll be a bargain. It's a brightly-recorded Martin D-18 and includes a faux-12-string mode. Easy-to-use strum engine with lots of strumming presets. Here's a walkthrough: http://indiginus.com/renegade_acoustic.html [EDIT] Heard back from Tracy, the final price will be $69 after two weeks.

I'm a big fan of Indiginus. Their instruments are inexpensive and they always seem to sound just right in my projects.

Their prices have been creeping up and with OTS amazing group buys (with superior sounding products), Indiginus' products aren't as attractive as they used to be. * *To be fair, that's true for most of us.

Smokey has (almost) the right of it. I've never been attractive.

Yup, I picked up an OTS title recently for 40 bucks. But it was one of Greg's older libraries and not NI-registered. That's why Indiginus stuff is always going to be cheaper than most of the competition: they don't have to pay NI. I reckon I've saved many, many times the price of Kontakt over the years by taking advantage of all the less-expensive libraries out there that require the full version. If you use a lot of sample libraries, it's well-worth the investment. Even with NI's annoying practice of planned obsolescence.

I bought this a few days back, and for me, the Indiginus strum engine, and keyswitching is way more user friendly, and also has more flexibility for creativity that the one in the OTS guitars . . . but the larger sample sizes, and extra nuances of OTS do sound better. Wish I could just create in Indiginus, and switch to OTS for final mix export. (too bad, I haven't found a way to do it)

Well demos sound very nice and the walk through gives a good idea as to what can be achieved. Operation looks similar to the Telecaster. I though I could pass on this one given my other options but I am sorely tempted. Because of the way the strumming and solo articulations work you will get quite different parts to using OTS, almost like having a different guitarist.

I'm a big fan of Indiginus guitars, I own most of them. I just got the Renegade Acoustic last night. And I already created the beginnings of a great song. I used two instances of the guitar (one rhythm part and one lead with the harmony setting). I just added drums and bass, and it sounds fantastic. Although (as we are warned in the demo video), your timing has to be precise, with a quick space in between chords, otherwise it won't play correctly. It takes a little while to get used to playing it correctly. Other guitar samplers aren't as strict (like MusicLab RealGuitars).
Lee Shapirowww.soundclick.com/leeshapiro Welcome BandLab and thank you for giving Cakewalk and Sonar a new lease on life.
