Replacing fader on Frontier Alpha Track

Does anyone know the type of motorized fader used on alphatrack? I need to replace it because it's not working anymore. It's not a usb power issue but an hardware one.

    the instructions were easier to find than the parts :-) probably because the unit is only 70 bucks used.
    it would be cheaper (parts and labor) and less a headache to buy a new one. but if you really want to step up your game... buy a Mackie MCU instead. I see them now at guitar center used for 250.00 - 299.99.
     
    For me anyway, buying a used Mackie MCU was possibly the best, smartest purchase I've ever made for my studio.
    You get 8 motorized faders (plus a master motorized fader) a zillion buttons for every kind of view) buttons for copy/paste/delete, exc. pan knobs that can be assigned to plug ins, pro channel and most important.. the jog wheels which can scroll the timeline, zoom or scrub.
     
    Fleabay usually has parts for just about everything but I couldn't find any alpha track parts. maybe im missing them.
    FYI-Mackie MCU is midi control surface so you wont ever have problems with drivers...it doesn't use any :-)

    Hi Chuckebaby, are you using your Mackie MCU connected with just MIDI cables in and out of the unit, or is it hooked up with a USB connection? Just interested because I might buy a used one. Thanks, Mark.

    Mine is hooked up with an USB cable. I totally agree with Chuckebaby in that the MCU pro is very functional as a control surface.

    Looking at the linked instructions, one thing that sticks out is reseating the 4 pin connector as they state that has been a known problem.  I would suggest that be done first as it may be the problem.
     
    I have an old Frontier Tranzport.  I hope it never needs repair.  I use it all the time, even more than my Behringer X-Touch control surface.

    To the OP, the fader may be fairly standard. I just looked on ebay and found several brands that look identical. I'd open it up and see if it would match. The average price for the faders on ebay would seem to make it a worthwhile repair.

    Splat, Win 10 64bit and all sorts of musical odds and sods collected over the years, but still missing a lot of my old analogue stuff I sold off years ago.
