Requested Feature : Stop Crashing During Auto Save

Please, no more monthly trinkets! Instead, make Sonar stop crashing if I touch anything during an unannounced auto-save or at least make the screen flash red prior to auto-saving. I'm certain  the Gibson employees masquerading as users are en route to suggest malware or a subterranean Yeti is the real culprit. Yawn.

Anyone know how often Cubase crashes?

If by Yeti you mean "auto save needs to be set up so it doesn't bork out my session or maybe I should turn it off completely and learn to save manually" or "my system can't handle the crap I throw at it and I should consider updating my gear or learning how to work with what I've got"... then yes, Stuntpickle... I think you have a Yeti in your house... and that Yeti might just be you.

Now, not that you're interested in solving this, post your system specs and maybe the more tolerant folks will help you tweak your system enough that it can sustain Yeti attacks a little better.

Cubase is just as prone to "Yeti" attacks these days too if the message boards are to be believed. Whether it attracts more or less yetis than Sonar I cannot speak to because I don't own it but I DO know I have been suffering far less Yeti attacks since since the release of X3.

I can say all this confidently as the imaginary CEO and official guitar licker for Gibson Inc (that's right folks... I have licked every guitar that rolls of the line because it improves the tone and gives it that lovely Beepster scent... and that is totally not made up bullpizzle just to be a numbnuts on the Cake and Bake forums).

    Sincerely yours,

This guy went nuts during the release and probably just saw the Auto Save thread and thought it would be easy troll material.

I will change my mind about "Stuntpickle" once he provides specs, details on how he's working, when this is happening, etc.

Auto Save is best left off unless you are doing something specific and/or you have things set in such a way the system can handle the resource hogging such a process does.

I wouls say only turn it on set to save every X amount of moves while editing. Not "Save every X amount of minutes" while multi tracking drums.

    Thinking things through. It works.

How about turning off auto save. Too much to grasp?

Not that I'm surprised persons who drank the Sonar Kool-Aid fail to understand I'm not looking for help. Help would require, first, competence from the users of this forum and, second, a problem rectifiable by someone other than a programmer with Sonar source code -- both of which constitute optimism bordering on lunacy.

I've already been through the parody of assistance these forums offer and chased many a goose down a cul-de-sac of adolescent narcissism. I'd rather call the cable company than do it again. FYI, after eliminating every conceivable, irrelevant, unrelated part of my eight-core computer the last time -- I verified and documented (with video) that the problem was unquestionably buggy Sonar, at which point all that "help" -- which amounted to nothing more than "not Sonar" evaporated.

And already the imbecility has started! Stop using autosave? I guess the devs should probably remove that option from the menu since it's been reported by more than one person to crash the software. I probably wouldn't need to autosave if Sonar wasn't the crashingest software on the planet. But you're right: It's probably just me. I'm probably doing something stupid like using a quintessential feature fundamental to every single DAW in existence. I should probably just stop doing that.

OP doesn't want help, he says so in his post.  this is not a real "feature request" so there's no point of moving it there.

if there is a real problem to be solved, get help or fill out a problem report.  otherwise this thread serves no purpose other than trolling.
