Rerecording old song, have questions.

I recorded La Poeme to cassette tape on a Tascam when I was like seventeen. It's one of two that I want to redo. I added a lil boost and eq to this old version so the words would be slightly clearer. Sorry about the noise and odd tone.

My questions:
Can anyone forward links to their fave vsts (cost effective please) for orchestra and piano?
I programmed and punched the beats back then; your opinion if I should still go with synth pop or live drums?
Any other feedback is appreciated.....

Thank you

Not sure what version of Cakewalk you're using, but I use the Garritan strings in Dim Pro. Do you have that? Good piano in Dim Pro, too IMO.

I'd go the "synth pop" drum route...

Vocals were nice on this - especially for 17 - WOW!! Can't wait to hear the re-do...

    Hi Dena,

That old recording sounds pretty darn impressive!.... Man I wish I had a voice the quality of yours....

The amber piano w/ Sonar and the orchestra sounds in Dim Pro aren't horrible.  How much better than those are you looking for?

Personally, I use NI's Komplete which has Kontakt which has the New York Grand that I use on almost all my pieces:

Kontakt also has a pretty full orchestral suite.

    Peace,

    Ian

Hip hop, R&B, etc. ... IMHO:  As this is a groove-factory piece for dancing, skating, etc.  This is most excellent, IMHO.

http://www.producerloops.com/ I've found no better deals out there ... ($30-40 US +/- for song-kits) ... but you'll have to pay a little extra for the Euro-Dollar transaction fee.

    Other options for the groove:

    1) Sonar Beatscape

    2) If you'd like someone here to write the groove: I'd hope for Clifford (TruckerMusic), JamesYoyo (YoyoFactory), JonBouy (CHB), or myself (pm me)

    For orchestra and piano:
    1) Sonar's TruePiano (free)
    2) EWQL Orchestra Gold (about $250 during sales)
    3) Else send your MIDI's and Vox samples to collab with one of the producers (groove meisters, above)
